Why would the United States have to rearm these countries. They are all part of the EU and it is the EU’s responsibility to arm itself.
The Baltics, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania are pretty indefensible. On the other hand their conquest by Russia would be no big deal strategically. They have been part of Russia or the Russian Empire during much of the last couple centuries and haven’t figured much in conflicts.
Why would the US be responsible?
Can’t the EU and NATO countries take care of themselves?

The US has carried NATO long enough. At some point in the Ukraine war, it was reported that the US had supplied 70% of the money/resources. We carry them and they do nothing to arm themselves sufficiently.

“According to the Baltic News Service, Lithuanian diplomats have said that the mention of development of air defense in the declaration is the first U.S. commitment of this type, which is important to secure progress during the NATO summit scheduled for July.
In the declaration, the U.S. also restates its “ironclad commitment to Article 5 of the Washington Treaty,” which consolidates the principle of collective defense.”
