On Friday, District Judge Aileen Cannon issued a new order in the Donald Trump classified documents case adding to the mountain of evidence that she is firmly in the former president’s pocket. Trump appointed Cannon in 2020 and the Senate confirmed her appointment in the days after he lost the 2020 election. It’s deeply offensive to the rule of law for judges to bend the law to benefit those who put them on the bench. Sadly, Cannon does just that.

By “sabotage” they mean, not letting Jack Smith run riot
No, “sabotage” means “What do you mean you haven’t found him guilty yet?”
I guess it’s a real bitch when you get back what you’ve been giving out.

It’s from Slate. What else would you expect?

Hahahahahahaha!
The left does this ALL THE TIME!!! It is offensive when someone on the right does it.
But that’s not what’s happening. Cannon is standing up for the law, despite what Aftergut and Tribe falsely claim.
God bless Judge Cannon.
But it is obviously okay for a judge to obviously biased against the accused when that judge was appointed by a president of the other party.
Cannon hasn’t done what should have been done at the outset: throw the entire case out as a fabrication and hold Smith in contempt for trying to pull this stunt on the federal court.
I'll just let that otherworldly description hang there without comment.
From a legal standpoint there is only one real question in this case that matters.
Does the President have absolute de-classification authority and does the act of removing such from the WH, while still President, qualify as declassification.
This was the accepted precedent by the courts after the Clinton tapes case brought by Judicial Watch (and decided by a Judge now on SCOTUS). Her opinion was clear and nobody appealed it (of course) so it is the best indication we have of the Federally accepted “opinion” on the law.
All of this noise you hear on the left or the right about “the nuanced issues” surrounding the case are just 24/7 news-babble and rank partisanship. SCOTUS tends to condense cases down to single issues and if there is prior precedent within Federal courts it is quite rare for them to turn that upside down (even liberal justices don’t often do this).
There is little doubt that every prior President removed “documents” from office when they left, but what matters is the law and rendered opinions about the law. I believe the Justice called the authority “absolute” or something similar.
Mr Tribe, is as unbiased as Pelosi, Schumer, Shift and the FBI CIA and the JCOS.
Dennis Aftergut?
Is that a real name? A surname for something that comes out of your gut after you eat. It’s a very appropriate name for a filthy scumbag Rat. /spit
Cannon’s new ruling rejected special counsel Jack Smith’s entirely standard request that she order Trump to state whether he intends to rely on an “advice of counsel” defense ahead of the trial, currently scheduled for May 20. Advance notice of the defense helps expedite a trial because defendants asserting it need to provide additional discovery to prosecutors—raising the defense means that defendants must disclose all communications with their attorneys, as the defense waives the attorney–client privilege. …IOW, Cannon protected Trump’s Constitutional rights. Sad that I had to click through to find that out.
Weissmann ran the Trump-Russia investigation and he knew it was a lie before the “investigation# even started.
God bless Judge Cannon.
>>>If only more judges would follow suit and dismantle these egregious charges against President Trump!!
And thus we have this piece of pig swill!
