The Governor worries Donald Trump and Nikki Haley now won't bother to debate him in the Granite State, where he trails badly.
Gov. Ron DeSantis denies that he was “petrified” by the news Chris Christie was suspending his presidential run, but he is admitting in Iowa that he would have preferred a different outcome.
DeSantis wanted the former New Jersey Governor in the race to ensure a televised debate in New Hampshire actually happens, an outcome apparently in doubt now.
“I wanted him to stay in because I think if he was in the WMUR debate on Thursday and I had committed, I think that maybe Nikki Haley and Donald Trump would have had to consider it,” DeSantis said to KCCI in Iowa.
“The fact that he’s not a candidate anymore, I may be the only one there and you may not end up having that debate. So I thought it was worth it for him to stick through that debate, see what happens in Iowa and then go from there. But he didn’t do that.

The Trump-hating attack dog leaves and DeSantis worries that he’s gonna have to become the attack dog alone.
But, not to worry, DeSantis, the Trump-hating Christie will be doing it from outside the presidential run. DeSantis will be doing the same soon.
The gist of it is that Christie is not a conservative. DeSantis is. Therefore, Christie’s voters will now vote for Haley, not DeSantis. It would have been better if Christie had stayed in and split some of the more liberal vote between him and Haley.

I believe by saying suspending instead of ending, they have more legal flexibility to use their campaign dollars as they see fit.
Christie and DeSantis were supposed to be the new Bussom Buddies. They had been texting and calling each other chatting how they are going to take down Haley. Until Christie dropped out to help Haley. That’s what happens when you buddy up to the establishment and backstab MAGA, the establishment backstabs you back.
I think this is just Ron looking for someone to pad him from being in last place. That’s all Christie could have ever done for Ron.

He takes votes away from Haley that is why
To be honest, if we had to get a human shield ready in case of trouble wouldn’t we like to hide behind Christie?
