We’ve dug ourselves a hole.

Fingers can be pointed in a lot of directions — government, high schools, universities, parents, students, society, social media, etc. etc.

It’s not a simple problem, and it is a problem that needs some sort of solution. Telling young people to “suck it up and work hard” is, in my opinion, not a well thought out strategy to solving this.

It might not be, but when I was young, Starvation and living on the street was a very motivating factor in my work ethic.

It is if you start telling them at eight years old.

Why, that's what we all did. Why is this generation incapable of doing the same? Your low expectation are part of the problem. I'm still waiting to see that white privilege I'm said to be entitled to but it never slowed me down.

What is your well thought out strategy to solving this?

Telling them that and actually seeing results is a broad separation. Until the next generation gets on the stick, the previous one will have to pay the bills. So what do you tell them? Stay home and I will support you for the rest of my life and then you can go on welfre for the rest of yours. We’re already an inch from insolvency. Who’s going to support the machine when the current crop dies if this strategy is curtailed? Free enterprise isn’t free outside of government entitlements. And those didn’t materialize out of no where.
