Gavin Newsom Wants to Raid California’s ‘Rainy Day’ Fund to Help Fill $38 Billion Deficit
Breitbart ^ | 01/11/2024 | JOEL B. POLLAK

California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) is proposing to dip into the state’s “rainy day” fund to help fill the hole that is the state’s $38 billion deficit — a stunning shortfall, given a surplus of nearly $100 billion that the Golden State had enjoyed just a year before.

As Breitbart News has noted, California received shocking news at the end of 2022 when a $98 billion surplus, partly fueled by President Joe Biden’s “rescue” plan, collapsed into a $25 billion deficit. Later projections predicted an even larger deficit.

That is what the rainy day fund is for. So use it Greasy Gavin!

Caution! All this is leading to a bailout of California.

He should raise taxes on the successful Californians. Get them to pay a lot more to make up for their unfair privileges
and advantages over the downtrodden people. /S

Please. No such thing as a government rainy day fund. They spend it before they even get it.

Remember that California has tried twice to tax income from retiries’ in other states whose retirement income is paid from California businesses. They collected taxes in the 1990s until the USSC slapped them down and also tried it again a few years ago. The Democrats in control in Sacramento have no shame.

Last year, if I remember correctly, Gruesome Newsom was bragging about Cauliphonya’s 40 Billion budget surplus. I guess he was counting on the “legalize it and tax the hell out of it” medicinal marijuana sales.

If they think it is bad now..

Wait until every one with a life long chronic, expensive illness gets sent from their home country to Ca for “free” treatment.

What if JUST Canada and Mexico decided for the cost of a plane ticket. to clear out every one of their stage 4 cancer/ Aids patients?

Sorry Mr X. We can only offer you asparin and morphine for the pain. BUT.. If you take a short plane ride to California, they have the best MDs and Hospitals to CURE you. And it will cost you nothing.

How much $$ would those countries save from treating these people for even a month a piece? More or less than a 1 way ticket to LA?

Can I ask a stupid question?

What happened to the 100 billion dollar Surplus from last year?

If the state of California ended the last year with 100 billion dollars in the bank, and they’re facing a 38 billion dollar deficit in the next year, couldn’t they use last year’s Surplus and still have 62 billion in the bank at the end of the next year?

Was the 100 billion dollar Surplus actually money in the bank, or was that just an accounting entry and not representing real money?

Imagine what “healthcare” is going to be like once Xidenskyyyyy’s crazy Cuban Diaper Changing Station Czar, Mickey Mayorkass, gives all his fellow Hispanics and their weird sidekicks from all over the world FREE HEALTHCARE. You’re going to be in heap big trouble, Amerika. Good luck getting a doctor’s appointment. Those bass turds come first in Xiden’s Amerika and unless you’re a big enough dumbass to believe government statistics, THERE ARE 50 MILLION OF Doctor JILL’S Breakfast Tacos here now. Health insurance costs for those who have to pay are going to really take a stab in the back. I read where somebody had a dumbass idea that all illegal aliens should receive their healthcare from the VA. Fork the Vets. Right Jo Jo? The RATS are counting on healthy illegal voters to carry them through.

This political tactic is commonly known as kicking the can down the road ... in this case, it’s a 12,000-gallon storage tank that Newsom the Vile is attempting to kick until he’s no longer governor of this once great state.
