It’s an open primary in NH. Democrats and Republicans can vote for whomever they want. I’ve been told through NH DNC email, Democrats want Trump out at any cost and Democrats will vote for Haley. They feel if the voting public sees Haley as a victory, from “ Republicans”, we really won’t want Trump as president. Then Biden is on the ballot in the rest of the states. If democrat operatives will fudge the results to elect Biden who’s to say they won’t do the same in the primaries to keep Trump off the ballot? Every poll I’ve seen shows Trump up over his nearest competitor by 40 points. Maybe CNN is putting stories like then out so when Haley “miraculously” eeks out a win on primary day that can pull out this story and say, “No funny business here, we predicted it back in January”.
