CHICAGO (WLS) -- The state of Illinois announced Wednesday it will create an expanded intake center for migrants arriving by bus at Chicago's "landing zone."
And organizers said they've been inundated with new arrivals the past two weeks.
So much so, dozens of migrants, wearing very little winter clothing and carrying young children, could be seen arriving Wednesday night on foot.
"It's been a lot. I would say over 1,000, probably 2,000, a lot, a lot more. We got hit hard New Year's Eve," said Eduardo Fuentes, director of community care for New Life Centers.
"I'm sure Texas is experiencing a lot of it to a bigger extent than we are at the border. But when they're sending them directly to Chicago, rather than all the other states in between Texas and Illinois, it says it's a political attack," Ald. Andre Vasquez said.
"We've recently been advised by a bus driver that unless we do something, these buses will keep coming unannounced at least through March," Hinsdale Village President Tom Cauley said.
Right now, there are nearly 15,000 migrants in 27 shelters across Chicago.

It’s amazing these rat leaders who say more funding and more facilities is the answer to the problem. A vanishingly small percentage of these so-called asylum seekers are actually entitled to asylum under the law, yet none of these leaders will call that out. Instead, they’ll need 2,3,4 times the resources they’re pouring into it now. And the stupid bastards that vote for them will just keep on doing so

My guess is it will be a redistribution center. Gov Pritzker will make a play to his base and ship them to red areas. He’ll be the belle of the ball in a bid for VP.
The city has no money. The state can dip into federal money.

Thing is, Chicago has a lot more money to spend on them than say El Paso or Eagle Pass, and they’re dealing with a small fraction of the numbers.

They have no interest in convicting him in the Senate because it won’t be possible and results in the non-qualified alien known as Harris becoming President, even if only for a few months.
It would be a disaster for the formerly free world if that were to happen, so...look forward to a final impeachment vote in oh, September 2024. The memory horizon is about 3 weeks for normal stuff, maybe 8 weeks for things like an impeachment. They just want to be on the edge of that when the “election” occurs.
Certainly, if we had an objective press; however, both of those points are debatable so long as we have a leftist supporting liberal press we have.
The MSM has already taken to consistently painting Trump as a "Hitler" and the R''s as the greatest threat to Democracy the nation has have ever witnessed.
We should anticipate the MSM would ramp up its efforts to paint Biden as a victim of the hateful R's - that it will do its 24/7 best to assure the bad press you speak of is given to the R's.
It, and the Dems are confident the group that gave Hillary her popular vote is yet in place. More importantly, it is also no doubt confident it has the machinery in place in a few key states to produce the necessary electoral votes, a matter yet to be determined.
IMO, Biden is almost a distraction for the campaign and an unimportant target that does not deserve a much of an effort, the nation already has a good read on him.
Again, IMO the more important target is the group behind Biden. The first step in demolishing that group is for the R's to go on the offensive as a "same-message" unified body and make sure the voters actually know what is happening to our country, and then what the R's will do after regaining the WH. They should not waste valuable opportunities talking to the press about what the press wants to talk about.
Once the R's have reoccupied the WH work can begin on the second step, the actual process of dismantling the anti-MAGA features quickly being installed on a daily basis.
