LVIV, Ukraine, Jan 1 (Reuters) - Russian drones attacked a university and a museum linked to two of the most prominent 20th century defenders of Ukrainian national identity on Monday, leaving locals vowing to repair the damage.
The first smashed windows and much of the roof at the National Agrarian University, outside the western Ukrainian city of Lviv, where Stepan Bandera - a hero in Ukraine but a villain according to the Kremlin - studied.
It hit on what would have been Bandera's 115th birthday.
The second ravaged a nearby museum devoted to Roman Shukhevych.

"This is the building in which Stepan Bandera attended classes. There's a memorial plaque dedicated to Bandera, and the statue too," 82-year-old Sofia Zdorovyk said as people cleared up the rubble around her.

Bandera was the leader of a branch of the Organisation of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN-B), which collaborated with the Nazis during the German occupation of western Ukraine.
Who was Roman Shukhevych?
He collaborated with the Nazis from February 1941 to December 1942 as commanding officer of the Nachtigall Battalion in early 1941, and as a Hauptmann of the German Schutzmannschaft 201 auxiliary police battalion in late 1941 and 1942.
And, in case the Zeepers here don't realize it -- the Nazis were the bad guys in WW II. We joined with the Soviets to defeat the Nazis and their allies in WW II.
It's no wonder with modern-day founding fathers like Bandera and Shukhevych that Ukraine had become the epicenter for neo-Nazism in the world before the war in Ukraine began.
Both Israel and Poland before the war condemned the fact that Ukrainians held Nazi collaborators like Bandera and Shukhevych in such high regard.
Now, the media is whitewashing the history of both.
Some Polish work colleagues from Krakow told me at a private dinner recently
“We Poles have suffered under Russians, we have suffered under Germans - but we have never suffered as much as under the Ukrainians.”
Watch the movie "Wołyn".
Pushing the Kaiser out of power after WWI was a really stupid move. There would have been no Nazi party were it not for Woodrow Wilson, and WWII would have been the allies versus the Communists.
Germany came very close to going Communist after WWI, unfortunately the people who stopped them from achieving power, eventually ended up making up the core of the Nazi Party.
Indeed.
Churchill said and paraphrasing since don’t have exact quote in front of me - “If we had kept a Hapsburg, a Hohenzollern & a Wittelsbach on their respective thrones there would have been no Hitler “ . In saying this he implied no WWII.

At least we didn’t repeat that mistake with Hirohito.
Heroically raping and slaughtering Jews and Poles, just like the Hammie boys from Gaza.
The Communists in Germany in the '20s and early '30s were financed and controlled by Moscow. They caused enough trouble that the German middle classes were willing to back the National Socialists to get rid of them. The rest we know.
nb. The modern Antifa movement traces its' origin to these Bolshevik insurrectionists.
Lotta money and technology to not hit anything of military importance...
Meanwhile an 18 year old Russian soldier was just killed, and the photo released of him by his family shows him wearing a neo-Nazi symbol. Putin continuing to de-Nazify Ukraine by sending Nazis to die there!
I said I would denazify Ukraine.
If Roman Shukhevych and Stepan Bandera are “ Ukrainian nationalists” then Adolph Hitler is an Austrian-German nationalist. After all, they all fought Russians eh.
rumor has it the drones were from Kazan, Russia. Is that where you live?
Those two lobsters are not going to do much with their rubber bands on their claws.
Now, would you like to respond to the point made -- that Ukraine's modern-day founding fathers were Nazi collaborators and Ukraine was a country dominated by neo-Nazism?
Of course, all of us that have seen your posts, know you're incapable of making a coherent point in a debate.
