A True GREAT lesson in life. One the kid will never forget, and it will be his story to tell at cocktail parties. I was put on a bus at the age of 5... with a suitcase to go across town in Hutchinson, Kansas, switching buses...THESE were good life lessons.
Yep. In Tokyo, kindergartners take the trains to school alone, following an app that tells them when and where to get off or switch trains. The worse that happens is that they fall asleep and adult strangers have to shake them awake.
Indeed. I used to cross a busy 4 lane street (at an uncontrolled intersection), ride the city bus 3 miles, and walk another 2 blocks to my school, at 6 years old.
At 16 I would have had a blast in Puerto Rico on my own. At least until I was sent home again...
However, the feminization of our culture combined with the “Safety at ALL Costs” credo has turned SO MANY of our young men into simpering purse string clinging little wusses
