Retired California public employees are flocking to Idaho with their pension funds and becoming the financial "lifeblood" of at least one Idaho town, ruffling feathers with some locals who are taking issue with the "liberal baggage" of the new residents.
The Los Angeles Times reported this month the town of Eagle, Idaho, has seen an influx of retired cops and firefighters moving to their town with many of them identifying as conservative but who "seem practically socialist to the old guard" with their large pensions.
Two California transplants squared off in the most recent mayoral race, and the key issue between the two former Golden State residents was "who was the least Californian."

A large percentage of police officers and firefighters are mostly conservative.
Progressives are arrogant pigs who lack self awareness. They can’t even conceive the idea that their voting patterns caused the problems they are fleeing. Therefore, they bring it with them. Like a plague.
If the California transplants are claiming to be refugees from the liberal state they come from, will they get court dates in 2031 to prove that they are actual refugees, or will they be accepted as normal people just looking for a better place to retire?

Not when it comes go state employees. PO's and FF's tend to side with their fellow state government employee causes of more pay and benefits for less work and less accountability.

Yeah - those “conservative” cops, firefighters and construction workers love stuff like the increased minimum wage ($16.28 in WA come Jan. 1). It doesn’t just affect the minimum wage, but those union wages that use a multiplier of the minimum wage.
