Russia acknowledges a missile attack on warship Novocherkassk, which Ukraine claims to have destroyed in a cruise missile strike in the early hours of Boxing Day.
Ukraine appears to have come out of Christmas Day determined to make an impact, as they claim to have destroyed another Russian warship, this time with an air-launched cruise missile strike. Russia acknowledged the attack on the Ropucha-class Novocherkassk, a 1980s-vintage landing ship similar in size to the U.S.-made Freedom-class warship, saying that one person had been killed in the strike.
Lieutenant General Mykola Oleshchuk of the Ukrainian Air Force thanks his pilots for the “fine work” and noted in a statement that the Russian fleet “is getting smaller and smaller”. Ukrainian Pravda reports remarks of the spokesman for the Ukrainian armed forces Yurii Ihnat, who gave more detail on the strike, saying fighter jets launched a barrage of Anglo-French Storm Shadow / SCALP cruise missiles at the target, hoping at least one of the group would evade Russian air defences.

Gaslighting.
LOL.......wowser.
Are those expensive, I wonder? Difficult to replace with sanctions on foreign parts? I hope so.
It true, I would not want to be in Kiev for a few days. Russian’s tit-for-tat will be explosive. A lot more lives will be lost on the Ukraine side then the 82 crew members on Russia’s retaliation side. No one wins in war, except the leaders and rich war thieves in each country.
The same day this ship was hit, Russia captured Marinka.
A $300 Million warship destroyed with a dozen missiles
But the Russian shills here will still insistently claim that Russia is somehow “winning”
Ukraine did not shoot an expensive missile to damage a 1980s ship, they expended the missile to keep the Russian Navy at bay. Their lifeblood is the sea trade of grain, doing this impedes Russia’s ability to effectively interdict sea traffic in and out of Odessa.
While the land war may be stalemated, they are winning the sea war. Which keeps their economy running and Ukraine in the war.
Winning or not most reasonable people would agreed the Russian military has proven to be a joke
—”And I claim to have a 29 inch waist and wear skinny jeans...”
Of course, this is a huge boost to the Russians.
And possibly advance some Russian positions that have not changed in over a year.
Over Christmas, they lost over ONE THOUSAND of their best prison troops, three SU-34s, dozens of heavy vehicles, ten tanks, this ship and so much more.
Logistics, you have always to keep logistics as a top consideration.
That said, it must be mentioned that Russia has many issues with its logistics.
After the Christmas losses, the need for transportation and supplies will be lessoned and they might be able to provide some food and shelter to their troops?

They took Marinka months ago. Just a bunch of foundation outlines and craters.
After the Christmas losses, the need for transportation and supplies will be lessened and they might be able to provide some food and shelter to their troops?

Hard to do with all the best foxholes filled Russian corpses.
This is a British attack on the Russian Navy. Everything else is sheep dip.
Indeed Ukraine sends memo to Biden boss we doing much gooder send more money.
It’s a good missile, low observable and deadly accurate against stationary targets.
It can’t hit a moving ship, but if it’s in port...
British attack the Russian Navy
Newspapers and publications depend on eye-catching headlines for their business, try to sell that ridiculous headline to them.
You’re right. Ukraine did it on their own. They took a British missile, mated it up with homemade SU-24 racks and software, then did the recon and targeting... all on their own.
No joint Brit/US P-8s and satellites were used. No Brit airmen and weapons specialists were sheep-dipped as instant Ukrainians. It was all home grown Uke ingenuity.
Go back to sleep.
