Census Data: California Population Drops Again; Below 39 Million
Breitbart ^ | 12/22/2023 | JOEL B. POLLAK

The population of the State of California has fallen again — below 39 million people, according to new data from the U.S. Census.

The San Francisco Chronicle reported:

California’s population dipped by about 75,000 from 2022 to 2023, estimates released Tuesday by the Census Bureau shows, with about 38,965,000 million people in the state this year. The state’s population has fallen since its 2019 peak of 39.5 million, though the annual loss has also slowed each year. Between 2021 and 2022, California lost a net of about 104,000 people, or 0.3%, higher than the dip of 0.2% between 2022 and 2023. …

California’s Department of Finance, whose estimates use different data sources than the Census, suggested the state’s population [drop] could be … less severe. By its measure, the state’s 2023 population is about 39.1 million, falling by just 37,000 people from the year prior. The department, which also said San Francisco’s population has grown slightly in the past two years, told the Chronicle they believe their data tracked in-migration slightly better than the Census Bureau.

Over the years the populations of Cali and Canada were sort of close in number with Cali usually ahead but Canada topped 40 mil this year around June or July so it’s pulling ahead now.

Hard-working, successful people are fleeing California very quickly.
Illegal immigrants who don’t speak English and who just want to collect welfare are moving in quickly, but not quite as quickly as the people leaving.
So population is dropping.
Tax revenues must really suck now.

“California’s population losses through domestic migration were partially offset by international immigration and in-state births.”

International immigration. Is that what we’re calling it now?

What isn't stated here is that the people leaving the state are prone to be productive members of the tax base. The ‘international immigrants’ are more likely to be non productive leeches on the public welfare system. You don't need to be Einstein to do the math here...

Some who left are hard working, responsible folks like me that want good govt,, good second amendment freedoms and good enforcement of criminal laws. Others are liberal-dem-progressives who bring their America- hating votes with them.

“California’s population losses through domestic migration were partially offset by international immigration and in-state births.”

I don’t think I know anyone in those groups that can do the work required to keep the state afloat that is coming in to replace who’s leaving.

When you fix or replace something, normally you use the parts that are made for it. Try plugging in an accountant with a janitor, or a cop with a fentynol dealer, or maybe an airline pilot with a guy who can’t speak english and has a third grade education.

It’s been said that if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Well, it’s broke and they aren’t fixing it. Factually, they are making it worse with their efforts to plug in voters. It’s not how many, it’s how good they are.

CA had throwing-around money, until this year. They’re going to go through an austerity phase that will be so fun.

What is never mentioned with these millions of illegal aliens, is, if they are counted in the census, millions of American citizens will be disfranchised in the House of Representtives, as has happened in the large increase in House representation in California.

The engineers, scientist and doctors pouring across the border should help replenish the population.

That street money is drying up quickly. Back in June of 2023, Biden Schumer and McCarthy signed a deal that said the national debt would not increase to more than 36 TRILLION before 1/1/2025. That was supposed to be an increase of 4 TRILLION from where it was in June.

According to https://www.usdebtclock.org/ the number is now at 33,937, xxx, xxx.xx (1:03PM Central ).

And we still have 12 months and 9 days to go. At this rate, there will be another debt ceiling crisis coming in August or September of 2024, in the middle of the presidential election campaign. Buy your popcorn now, because 2024 is going to be an interesting year.

“The engineers, scientist and doctors”

Yes. The South Saharan Medical schools are sending their best, and the influx of Venezuelan semiconductor engineers are bolstering the Silicon Valley.

All we need now are some Oaxacan software coders and bliss will ensue.

It’d be even lower but the folks w/EVs don’t have enough range to get out. Made worse by rolling blackouts.

The politicians won’t know how to fix it, or have the huevos to do what needs to be done. With term limits, none of them will be accountable when the reckoning comes anyway. They’ve been giving away the farm to every special interest group, including public employees and NGOs they have a built in voting block.

The way out of this, politically, is to pit the productive classes against the government workers. It’s a much better gig - better pay, better benefits, and better retirement plan - being a filing clerk at the DMV than in a small office. Government workers entire raison d’etre is to regulate and poke at the private sector and they generally get better pay and benefits then the line workers in private businesses. When California passed Prop 13 to limit property tax increases it was the people rising up to put limits on the government. That kind of movement has to reoccur.

Anyway the left loves to divide people by all kinds of superficial issues. One way to fight back is to divide them between those who pay taxes and those who get paid by taxes.
