However, a dose of realism will not stop the dem march to "green" energy.
Maine’s state motto is “Dirigo,” latin for “I direct.” Many years ago, political pundits would say, “As Maine goes, so goes the nation.” Lately, though, they just say “As Maine goes, so goes Vermont.”
Wait till they learn batteries such in the cold climate damages the batteries and lessens the lifespan quicker and limits the range too compare to SoCal or other warmer areas. Same for Michigan. Folks build the cars there and know the issues but you can’t tell stupid pols that. They plug thier ears and vote to kill thier economy off. More woke Amish games.
God definitely has a sense of humor!
On a side note:
Notice how the word “mandate” has become such a part of our current age’s lexicon. We no longer have representatives passing laws after listening to both sides of the argument and getting input from their constituents. Instead, so much is mandated and their input is from lobbyists, social justice activists, and special interest groups.
They make a point of not notifying the voters and people who will be harmed until way after the mandate has been approved. Their attitude then is “We decided on this! So do as we say, you slave! We care not how much it harms you!”
At least on this issue, a vote was going to be held. Too many new rules are “mandated” by un-elected bureaucratic agencies.
The universe has a sense of humor and it is brutal.

“Maine forced to delay vote on EV mandate amid widespread power outages”
The Bee should run this headline, and then only say: “It’s true, read for yourself”
Excellent job, Bee. Youve done it again.
I bought property in Maine this year and will be staying permanently. This wasn’t the worst storm they ever had, but it was pretty significant.
The closest big town of any consequence to me is Waterville and they have a big charging station area in the parking lot of the local grocery store [Hannaford’s]. Maybe 30 kiosks. When the power outage hit the State, Waterville was completely dark starting on Tuesday. Nobody could charge their vehicles. Same for Wednesday, Waterville was still out of power.
Today, power was back and every charging kiosk was used. And, there were at least 75 cars waiting for their chance to charge up.
Lots of wind? They should have generated tons of electricity!
They've had their brains scooped out of their skulls, and replaced with cow manuure.
The idiots voting for this mandate will fail to see the irony slapping them in the face, and vote for it anyway.
I asked my new neighbor down here in AZ: where are you from?
Maine, comes the answer.
It will never work up heah!
They don’t know nothin’!
Hell, they don’t even suspect nothin’!
Hat tip to Tim Sample.
Yeesh!
Talk about irony!
Oh, the irony.
electricity comes from walls
ROFLOL
Let them freeze and starve in their electrified cabin in the woods. The world needs fewer imbeciles anyway.
Maine has RCV for a reason.
Mainers, want your state back?
Ditch RCV and go back to dumb voting machines.
Secure your damn elections.
