Rudy Giuliani has filed for bankruptcy, days after being ordered to pay $148 million in a defamation lawsuit brought by two former election workers in Georgia who said his targeting of them led to death threats that made them fear for their lives.

In his filing Thursday, the former New York City mayor listed nearly $153 million in existing or potential debts, including close to a million dollars in tax liabilities, money he owes his lawyers and many millions of dollars in potential legal judgements in lawsuits against him. He estimated his assets to be between $1 million and $10 million.

The biggest debt is the $148 million he was ordered to pay a week ago for making false statements about the election workers in Georgia stemming from the 2020 presidential contest.

President Trump should nominate Rudy to be Attorney General.
Additionally, Tucker Carlson should be Press Secretary....Abbott head of DHS...Pompeo Def Sec..Solid one and all.

That would not be a wise move, doing that is likely a crime and has sent people to prison before, intentionally hiding assets by transferring their ownership would not only put Rudy in legal jeopardy but his son as well for engaging in the fraud.

“It’s not really a fine as in a government agency fining someone, it’s a Civil Judgement which is not part of that 8th Amendment.”

Well, the Supreme Court made the Bill of Rights applicable to the states years ago. And the definition of a fine is below.

The purpose of disallowing excessive fines is so that a person is not caused to be broke by a particular action by a vindictive jury or judge. The punishment does not fit the crime here. $148 million for what? Defaming?

fine
noun
1
a: a sum imposed as punishment for an offense
b: a forfeiture or penalty paid to an injured party in a civil action

I suggest you research the term “fraudulent conveyance”.

You really think those things called Amendments still work? God Bless You...

Lives, fortunes, and sacred honor ruined for our benefit.

We have been through basically 8 years of lawfare against Trump and anyone associated with him. Lawfare against many of the once shiny diamond called the United States freedom.

(Waits patiently for him to get “The Alex Jones treatment” whereby some judge rules that his debt isn’t dischargeable).

“For sure, they are low level criminals, but the ones pulling their strings are far worse.”

Wait until they find out the bankruptcy court will divide Rudy’s assets and give them very little. Their attorneys will take any small amount the bankruptcy court awards them and they will end up with zero.

IF the was being interpreted that way today, thousands of people would get their judgements reduced for thrown out completely.

The $148 million will get reduced in appeal, it’s absurd to pass judgement on a regular person like that, even if the judgement was against Trump it would likely get reduced.

When we take back the courts.

One of the most important things Trump did is appoint two Supremes and many other federal judges.

I think these “fag judges” and their Banana Ballot count adjusters are still pissed off at Rudy for the way he treated our Muzzie Terrorist “guests” on 11 Sep 2001.

America’s Mayor bankrupted by a pair of election criminals.
Hope all the apologists for The Big Steal are happy. We all saw what those two did, and it wasn’t “business as usual”.

Giuliani is the guy who told Trump not to give Sydney Powell her paperwork as special prosecutor for election crimes in 2020. He told Trump if he did, they would all go to jail. How did that advice work out for everyone?

When did the plaintiffs prove they were damaged? And how?

Exactly my question...how did the plaintiffs prove that level of damage, when they wouldn't have otherwise been worth that kind of money in several lifetimes?

Methinks the jury didn't understand the assignment...

“When will lawfare stop?”

Not as long as its victims persist in the idea that voting can change their outcomes.

I am a native New Yorker and they should put up a monument to the Mayor and give him a decent pension.

But his days are long in the past. Charles deGaulle observed,“La vieillesse est un naufrage”(Old age is a shipwreck), and Mayor Giuliani is a great example.
