A new bill filed in Florida would require local governments and schools to remain neutral when it comes to displaying flags.
The proposed legislation, HB 901, was filed by state Rep. David Borrero, R-Sweetwater, and would prohibit flying flags tied to political topics including sexuality, gender orientation or race.
Compass LGBTQ Center CEO Julie Seaver is among those opposed to the legislation.

Sounds like a good law.
I am of the opinion that government building should have a limited set of flags to fly.
US National flag
Local State Flag
Local Municipal flag
Nothing else
The only flags state and gov buildings should display are the state and US flag. Period.
Posters are a different matter - but flags?
There shouldn’t even need to be a discussion.
I am 63. No man has ever asked me out. I don’t think a flag is going to change that.

You are correct. If there is an official city or town flag that should also be allowed.
Concur. This is one ofthree Constitutional amendments I would like to see:
No branch department, agency, or other organization of the United States, the Several States, territories, tribes, federal district or any subdivision thereof will publicly display any banner, flag,or other heraldic device or symbol except those officially designated by or through proper legislative authority to represent to United States, the several states, territories, tribes, federal district or organization or subdivision thereof.
No branch, department, agency, or other organization of the United States, the Several States, territories, tribes, federal district or any subdivision thereof shall name any document, structure, facility, base, reservation, or vessel after any individual who is living at the time of naming or completion of said document, structure, facility, base, reservation or vessel.
Each branch department, agency, or other organization of the United States, the Several States, territories, tribes, federal district or any subdivision thereof will proved a full accounting of all expenditures within one year of expenditure. In cases where a reasonable person would conclude that effective execution of necessary and proper duties require secrecy, the government subdivision may provide totals, but must disclose full accounting no later than twenty-five years from expenditure.
I would add properly approved organizational flags. There are several specialized flags like the Coast Guard Ensign that denote authority to conduct searches and inspections of imported goods, ships on the high seas and the like.
Military units fly organizational colors, and many government office fly organizational flags as well.
This idea won't fly. 1rst amendment violation.
