A bizarre argument broke out at the Miss France beauty pageant, after an “androgynous” contestant with short hair won for the first time on Sunday night.
SNIP
The Dunkirk-born Gillies made history as the first winner in the pageant’s 103-year history who does not have long hair, since she sports a pixie cut. However, not all viewers agreed with this choice.
After the judges chose Gilles as Miss France 2024, there was an uproar. “Miss France is no longer a beauty contest but a woke contest which is based on inclusiveness,” one user wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Oh no. Short hair. How terrible.

I like short haired women. And this contestant is far from ‘androgynous’. She’d have to disrobe to prove otherwise.

One of these things is not like the others, one of these things just doesn't belong.....

I misread the name of last year’s winner Indira Ampiot as Indira Armpit so that made it worth going to the site.

Looks like she has anorexia. Not feminine. And that hair doesn’t help matters.

Not guilty.
Hey, complainers, she's an actual, biological woman.

Be happy with that.

I don’t necessarily have a problem with short hair. She’s pretty, but I noticed other contestants there that were prettier. I never watch these beauty contests, I think it’s women who primarily do.

Who watches the pageant? If it’s people that like short haired women, all’s good here.
Somone says, “but I chose an androgynous look with short hair.”.
I see a short haired woman, but not an androgynous one.
