Putin's threat to the EU: Kremlin says Ukraine or Moldova joining the bloc will 'destabilise' Europe in thinly-veiled warning

Russia said today that the European Union's decision to open membership talks with Ukraine and Moldova was a politicised decision that could destabilise the bloc.

'Negotiations to join the EU can last for years or decades. The EU has always had strict criteria for accession and it is obvious that at the moment neither Ukraine nor Moldova meets these criteria,' Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

'It is clear that this is an absolutely politicised decision, the EU's desire to demonstrate support for these countries. But such new members could destabilise the EU.'

Chișinău needs to roll its troops into Transnistria the way Azerbaijan dislodged the illegal, Russian backed phony “autonomous republic” in Nagorno-Karabakh, and send the Russian occupiers packing. Same for Abkhazia and South Ossetia in Georgia. Russia’s military is weak and now is an opportune time to end these Russian-created frozen conflicts intended to keep these countries poor, backward, and out of the EU and NATO.

And exploited without mercy by Putin's boyars, which was/is the whole point of invading Ukraine, when subversion failed.

It’s the ONLY way to guarantee Ukraine’s and Moldova’s future security

otherwise, Putin will just attack & invade again within 5 years ... bank on it

Putin, having absorbed Abkhazia and South Ossetia, grows mad with conquest. Not recognizing he cannot even defeat Ukraine, he threatens all of Europe.

Keep us out of it. We’ve had enough of our kids dying in fruitless, endless wars. You send yours next time.

Let me spell, you warmonger, retarded idiot:

1) EVERY SINGLE INCH of territory Russia has annexed will remain with the Russian Federation as long as anyone reading this is alive. Nothing will change that. Not even if NATO, stupidly, got involved directly. Whether you like or whether you don't like it, you're going to have to start learning to live with it.

2) If Ukraine doesn't unconditionally surrender, Russia will likely take everything east of the Dnieper River and the entire Black Sea coastline. Ukraine has no ability to stop that from occurring.

3) There is no chance the American people will tolerate us getting involved directly in Ukraine. There is no national interest in Ukraine. The career of any politician supporting such action would be over.

4) Russia is the big winner in this proxy war. It is free of any economic dependency on the West all while the Europe is still dependent on Russian oil and gas (and stupidly buying it through third party countries at much higher rates). It has land that accounted for 70-80% of Ukraine's GDP. It's added about 10 million to its population.

5) Russia is blessed by the arrogance of their enemies, who consistently lie to themselves, overestimate their capabilities while underestimating Russia's. Those running this proxy war are dangerously arrogant and ignorant and have the capability of leading this nation into ruin. Setting off WW III would do just that. Our woke military was squashed in a world war with Russia and China.

Like Kherson?

They have been doing a pretty good job of stopping them for the last two years.

put me down as an apologist or whatever your propaganda mind calls it. Name calling is a lazy excuse to block the issue.

If I'm Russia your just not putting another NATO country on my border. What would the US do if Canada and Mexico joined some block which is not friendly to the US and let bases be set up by those powers. Putin warned us and Biden called his bluff, so reap the whirlwind.

If the US taxpayers want to fund this war, and Biden doesn't want to support peace, then we get what we have coming and worse so does the Ukraine. We tell Israel to put down after 7 days and we refuse to call for peace in the Ukraine.
Biden is funding a proxy war and the congress is letting him do it. The cost of a demented president covering for his crones in a country.

Biden gave Putin the green light to invade Ukraine in a minor incursion. And Putin and his crappy military screwed up the deal.
