the year 202 - yes I heard crypto scams were pretty bad back then, in Rome and all.
In the late 60s early 70s, at my local state bank in Texas that literally had a grass airstrip in back for “fly in” banking... yes... If a foreign Chinaman came in, and was trying to cash a check on someone’s account... yes it would be noticed and given a bit of scrutiny.
Oh yeah. They entice you will all kinds of free things, and women who desire you sight unseen & bio unknown. 🤣
202, wow, that’s REALLY old!
Most places (probably all retailers) still accept cash in this country.
About the only ones using HSBC are the drug cartel laundering money ... did she need to lauder some money?
Yes the phones had camera obscura models back then. 😏
This is how women are. My wife is the same way. She tells me about a problem she has, I offer up a solution and she gets mad. She didn't want a solution to her problem, she just wanted to vent about it.
I wonder if someone could have gotten some info off her old phone?
GEE; I didn’t think the New York Post was even invented on Dec. 14 202 AD, that’s really a long time ago.
Have had a bank account since I was 16.
NOW 84.
NEVER, EVER had a bank call ME.
Would go to the bank if there ever was a problem-—WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING OVER THE PHONE.
Have paid bills by check since I was 17 or so.
Now 84.
NEVER had a problem.
DID accounting & bookkeeping for over 66 years.
NEVErR encountered anything counterfeit.
But only a small percentage of transactions are cash. Almost all retail sales go through the electronic banking system.
Yes, there was the possibility of fraud. Of course. But the level of fraud was nothing like electronic banking has created.
“I guess our government just doesn’t care.”
Ya think? They’ve only been trying to kill us for 3-4 years.
“Always call your bank with the numbers you have.”
We’ve had to do that with Amazon a few times when we’ve had suspicious calls. Hang up on the caller, and call the official number.
So?

“I’d love to see phone/text scammers executed.”
with a BIG exception to the prohibition of cruel and unusual punishments.
