“Nimrata “Nikki” Haley is ineligible for the office because her parents were foreign citizens when she was born.”

Moses was well familiar with the natural born citizen clause:

Deut. 17:15 —

“...you may indeed set a king over you whom the LORD your God will choose. One from among your brothers you shall set as king over you. You may not put a foreigner over you, who is not your brother.”

No court has ever held or will ever hold that is the eligibility criteria. The first U.S. President to even meet that criteria was Millard Fillmore. The parents of every President before him were foreign citizens when they were born.

There are only two types of citizens: (1) natural citizens and (2) naturalized citizens. Natural citizens are anyone who was born a citizen of the U.S. under the laws then in effect. Naturalized citizens are anyone who was not a citizen at birth and who had to apply for and qualify for citizenship under the laws then in effect. Natural citizens are eligible to be elected President. Naturalized citizens are not.

MAYBE a court will someday hold that children of illegal aliens are not automatically citizens, but I am not holding my breath. Children of parents that were legally here when they were born were "subject to the jurisdiction" of the U.S. and therefore birthright citizens under the 14th Amendment.

There are many, many reasons not to vote for Haley. Constitutional eligibility is not one of them.

I thought that too, until I read that the citizenship of the parents is not given weight in the Constitution. All it requires is a birth in the homeland or on a U.S. military base (John McCain).
