Good thing that pact did not exist in 1938. Otherwise we might have found ourselves allies with Germany fighting the Soviet Union. What hopeless webs and entanglements the globalists weave.

That’s how the article should read.

Tell that to the guys in Texas with new good jobs exporting energy to Europe. We’re America First. Not America Alone.

Obscure factoid: Finland was the only country to repay the USA for their World War One debt.

What hopeless webs and entanglements the globalists weave. What a silly comment. If Finland had had a formal military alliance with either Germany or the United States in 1939, Stalin would never had invaded.
In fact, the places where Stalin invaded - Finland, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia and eastern Poland were all places the Germans explicitly invited the Soviets to invade. The only possible exception to this is the 1940 Soviet invasion of Bessarabia and Northern Bukovina in Romania, which the Germans also did not oppose, but I am not aware of them ok'ing it either.

Well if Russia is a threat, then that’s why US troops are being stationed there ... Finland knows Putin is afraid of getting America involved

In these modern times is there anything we can only do or do well visit a vis surveillance from INSIDE Finland that we can’t do now already? We don’t use those Jupiter or Honest Jogn shorter range missiles anymore for nukes do we?

Obscure factoid: Finland was the only country to repay the USA for their World War One debt.Obscure response! That's almost true, but there are a few other small countries that also repaid us. Cuba, Finland, Hungary, Liberia, and Nicaragua all repaid their WW1 debts!

As of 2014, the UK still owed the United States $14 billion (with interest accruing). Not sure how much France owes, but it's a lot.

Looks like Putin's proposed purpose of keeping NATO away from Russia has backfired.
Invade Ukraine, place NATO on Russia's border.

The armchair isolationists are always happy to complain about our international alliances while sitting comfortably under its defensive umbrella. Recent history shows us what happens to countries without it.

Only Russia was trying to deliberately flood the Finnish border with refugees, so Finland closed all their crossings ...
and as an unintended consequence, now Russians there can't get back to visit their relatives in Russia ... blame Putin
