One of two Florida burglary grand theft suspects with a long criminal history bragged that he would be out of jail shortly after his arrest before he realized he was taken into custody in a county where the law is enforced by a no-nonsense sheriff with a tough-on-crime platform.
Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said his deputies spotted a stolen Dodge Ram just after 1 a.m. Wednesday. The driver, identified as Tamari Lucas, 24, a Tampa resident, and a passenger eventually stopped the truck and fled on foot, authorities said.

Judd said. Upon his arrest, Lucas allegedly told the deputies that he wouldn't be in jail for long because he was arrested in Osceola County. He was then informed that he was in fact taken into custody in Polk County.
"Oh, my God! Not Grady Judd! Are you (expletive) serious? This really sucks because you guys don’t play around in Polk County," he allegedly stated.

Lucas is charged with grand theft motor vehicle, not having a valid driver's license, two counts of criminal mischief and fleeing to elude law enforcement. He has a lengthy criminal history that includes 30 previous felony charges, 12 previous misdemeanor charges and 19 re-arrest charges, the sheriff's office said.

Sheriff Judd is also quick to give props to the no-nonsense prosecutors that he hands these crooks off to.
I think in my area (most areas?) the cops want to do their job and get these folks off the streets, but the criminals are let off, so why bother?
There was some guy in Seattle that was drugged up and speeding, hit a bus and then killed a pedestrian. He had 40+ charges over the years for drugs, driving, etc. I can’t recall if he was out on bail when he killed the pedestrian.
Criminals would be better off if they stayed in liberal Orange or Hillsbourgh counties.
But even those Democrat run criminal sanctuaries may see change coming. Governor DeSantis has ousted two Dem state attorneys - one in each county - for their dangerous abdication of responsibility.

The rest of the story: at the same time a 14 year old was arrested in another stolen car apparently traveling with the 24 yo. POS. He has also 30+ felony arrests including armed robbery. Not sure what will happen to him due to his age, but something medieval should.

Sheriff Judd’s best videos are the ones when he names the names and employers of pedophiles arrested when he and his deputies do a sweep and arrest several of the cretins. He makes a point to highlight the ones that work for Disney.

Judd is a badass. We have Hillhouse in Henderson County. He’s pretty good, but no Judd.
