From a religious perspective the “American Republic” is a house of cards that never should have been established in the first place. Most of the colonists may have been nominally Christian, but the new nation HAD to be stripped of any religious identity at its founding because the American Revolution was also a religious crusade of sorts. The King of England was the head of the Anglican Church, so the founders of this country had to construct a secular government just to get around the uncomfortable fact that they had waged war against God’s representative here on earth. The mere fact that they had even done such a thing should dispel any myths that these were truly religious men at all.
George was no more God’s representative on earth than I am.
Yet they aligned with French Catholics who had been in constant war with England.
You could go back to Alberta.
“...they had waged war against God’s representative here on earth”
Huh?
Competing with the pope?
