Americans are more optimistic about the future of Social Security than they have been in recent years, a new survey from Gallup found.
Among non-retirees, 50 percent expect Social Security to pay them a benefit when they retire, compared to 47 percent who do not think the system will help them.
The response from non-retirees is up from readings taken between 2005 and 2015, when majorities of non-retirees polled said they did not think that they would receive benefits from the system, Gallup found.
Current retirees believe they will continue to receive full benefits under Social Security.

We have no debt, at all, though most definitely "senior." I personally do not understand, but alas know, some after retirement who bought on credit. Happens. But I assume only that people can make foolish decisions.

The original topic was about "non-retirees," anyway. I merely commented with links about the economy, to 1) the Debt clock URL, 2) a Tax Foundation statement, 3) an article about Moody's Investor Service saying what it said about downgrading the US debt, and 4) the quote and source from StOnge.

I would LOVE for what you keep saying is going to happen....to actually happen. It's just that I'm a realist...and I know that what you claim will happen isn't reality. I have a long-time friend that keeps saying Trump will be "reinstated" to office sans the need for another election. It would be a miracle. She believes this. I do not. I would love for what she believes to be true. It's just not.

Funny, but I don't see that the DS Marxists are failing. I see them seizing more and more power over us, with the help of the feckless/gutless GOP, and I foresee them probably stealing yet another election...or even doing away with the "need" for elections.... as communists always do once they're in control. He definitely looks pissed off, as anyone would be... and as I am and as most of us are. And yeah, I AM worried. Worried that the Marxists will succeed due to the continued and ongoing stupidity and apathy of the American people. These court cases are engineered BY THE LEFT to eliminate Trump from being able to win another election. To think otherwise is, again, delusional. You keep insisting that Trump is behind it all. That he is the one "in control". It just does not ring true to me. I wish it were true. I wish you were right and correct in your beliefs. I just know in my gut that you are not. Re: 73 - the FReeper you are posting to has pushed multiple conspiracy theories since at least late 2020, and has advocated for the military overthrow of the U.S. Government. She predicted in early 2021 that we would be moving to a new financial system within a few weeks, then pushed it back a few months, then back to 2022, then to 2023, etc.
She also claimed there would be no Inauguration on 01/20/21, tried to claim in 2022 that almost all the combatant commanders in the DOD were appointed by President Trump implying they would only be loyal to Trump, but then got busted when simple research showed that several commanders were selected by Biden.

It sounds like the same tripe that one of my best friends has been deceived into believing (ie that Trump will be magically or miraculously “reinstated” to office soon, no election needed).
