That Popping Sound is Dem Heads 'Sploding: Episode 3 of 'John Fetterman Strikes Again': He Seems to Have Gotten Smarter After a Stroke!

OH

MY

GAWDDDD this is getting to be such fun!

Just a couple of days ago I had a piece on just how very vexing to Democrats – and how very reasonable to the rest of us – Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman had suddenly become post-October 7th. It’s been such an utter and complete 180° from the gibbering mass of stroke impacted Sling Blade chic we’ve all come to know and cringe at, that I posited aliens were responsible for the shift. Had to be. An abduction and substitution, perhaps, which had worked out (oddly enough for once) in our favor.

…But there was some strange magic happening in the halls as Fetterman was forced to dress like an adult that month.

He started sounding like one – as the full horror of the 7th of October Hamas attacks and atrocities became clearer with each passing day – even to the point of exuding confidence in doing and saying the right thing. The amazing part of it was, he was saying the right thing, all the right things, and flying in the face of the party line when they least expected it.

THIS Fetterman version was such a vast improvement over the previous model, I’ve decided we’ll keep him.

Not only has he come out swinging for Israel’s right to defend herself…

stop making me like Fetterman

…and gone mercilessly after Hamas supporters both in the streets, the fawning liberal media, and the halls of Congress…

…he’s even had the courage to beard fellow Democratic senators for their hypocrisy, and file resolutions to act on it.

Fetterman may be the only person in history to seemingly get smarter after a stroke

The cynic in me thinks he knows that the political winds in Pennsylvania are turning and is trying to tack to the center… but he isn’t up for re-election until 2029 so why bother? It’s weird https://t.co/K4YelwXsET

This afternoon, he piles on the common sense, straight talk goodies.

HOLY SMOKES

Is there a holiday coming?

We must have all been exceptionally good boys and girls to deserve this.

In today’s episode, the progressive Fetterman is a border hawk. Or at least willing to discuss it.

[CUE: CRANIUMS CRACKING, hissing and popping sounds]

And he did so in an engaging, reasonable, coherent, and pretty eloquent fashion.

Fetterman Calls on Democrats To Engage in Border Talks Amid Stalled Immigration Negotiations
‘I hope Democrats can understand that it isn’t xenophobic to be concerned about the border,’ said the Pennsylvania Democrat

…Fetterman urged his fellow party members to acknowledge the large number of migrants coming across the border, citing an estimated 270,000 border encounters reported in September by U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

“Honestly, it’s astonishing. And this isn’t a Fox News kind of statistic. This is the government’s,” Fetterman underscored.

“You essentially have [the population of] Pittsburgh showing up there at the border.”

Oh, God bless his little, pointy head. But that wasn’t all he said. My goodness – so incredibly refreshing. And don’t forget, his wife – the lovely Gisele – is a Dreamer, so he does have some skin in the illegal game. Yet here he is, still approaching the problem of border security from a serious angle.

As stalled immigration negotiations imperil U.S. aid to Ukraine and Israel, Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) is blaming not only Republicans but also members of his own party for what he described as a reflexive political resistance to a border security deal.

His remarks come as Democrats increasingly stiff-arm the border talks for skewing too far toward GOP demands — and they’re even more striking given his status as a longtime vocal advocate for immigrants. His wife, Gisele Fetterman, was a so-called “Dreamer” who came to the U.S. from Brazil when she was seven years old, a story he highlighted in a video during his 2022 Senate primary. (She became a citizen in 2009.)

…He did not name specific concessions he would suggest making in negotiations with Republicans, saying that he doesn’t want to “paint myself into a corner” ahead of a deal. He did make clear that one red line for him is Dreamers: He would not support any legislation that puts them in harm’s way.

…“I haven’t met anyone that can have a really crisp, cogent solution or easy solution on, ‘Well, what do you do when you have roughly a city similar in size of Pittsburgh coming up to the border?’” he said.

I sure hope this isn’t one of those flash-in-the-pan occurrences, and he reverts to being a schlub again. That would be a loss for all of us.

He is saying important things fearlessly and skewering sacred cows as if they were cow patties. It’s been far too long since a progressive darling has been anything but a flamethrowing Bolshevik whatever the cost. And far, FAR too long since there’s been any moral courage in evidence on the Democratic side of Senate, period.

I like the cut of his jib and his jibes.

Here’s to seeing you next week – same Fetterman time, same Fetterman channel.

“I’m waiting on the DNA tests.” - from above.

This is all very mind boggling. But in a good way!
