I just read last night that Biden may not be debating . He’s going to stay in his basement.
So the precipitous drop in ratings (in this case) was due to the venue on which it was being aired, then, since the ratings were very high or even record setting ratings.
False narratives have been getting thrown about here by the usual suspects...again.
I loved the old “TRUMP MUST DEBATE!!!” bullsqueeze from the nevertrumpers.
President Trump played it exactly right; ignore the junior high school debates, and plan other, more compelling activities on those days.
I notice we don’t see as much flak from the nevertrumpers after the junior high school “debates” any more.
Heck, guys like Drew68 have all but disappeared from the POTUS mudwrestling in the forum. It’s gotten that hopeless for them!
Trump would be an idiot to debate DeSantis. He's running so far ahead in the polling, he has nothing to gain and much to lose. He'd have to answer questions about his catastrophic final year in office, his handling of Covid and handing the country over to Dr. Fauci.
He's better off talking to sycophants like Hannity and Tucker, who toss him softballs and don't hold him accountable for anything, while attending his increasingly smaller rallies where he preaches to his devoted followers who will happily twist themselves into a pretzel to support whatever position Trump takes that day.

To be fair, bickering on stage is pretty much a debate.
But this is a debate to determine who will be second best.
There is little point in Trump debating anybody, he is a known quantity and will probably easily win primaries. I don’t think he should debate Biden or Newsom or whoever is the opponent, he should just tell people he is too busy to talk to known liars and mental defectives and challenge them to make a pledge of no electoral fraud before he debates them, of course they will not pledge so he can just point to that as proof of their guilt in the matter.
we HAD planned on watching this debate as we had missed the others...then we found out our local carrier was having a “Love Boat” marathon.

This has turned into a peeing contest at the little kid’s table, usually won by the girl. As usual, Trump is quite wise to avoid it.
It’s still more than who tuned into the Trump/Hannity interview (which was not a townhall). TheDeSantis/Newsom debate also had more tuning in.
That’s because hannity is a stooge and a poser. I am a trump supporter I didn’t even bother to watch that. C’mon.
