Columbia University’s School of Social Work proceeded with its “teach in” on the so-called “significance” of the October 7 terror attacks against Israel by Hamas, despite claiming that the event had been canceled.

“Another smoldering heap of a university,” reacted X/Twitter user and internet personality Aviva Klompas, sharing a video footage from the “teach in.”

“Columbia University stated that a planned student event to celebrate the October 7 ‘Palestinian Counteroffensive’ would not be permitted to take place,” Klompas added. “Yet here they are calling murder, rape, torture and kidnapping ‘great feats’ inside the @ColumbiaSSW building.”

“No doubt the university will set to work investigating the context,” she added.

A bit of sleight of hand, announcing cancellation but holding the event anyway.

Of all the Ivy Presidents, the Columbia president could be redeemable. She comes from a professional Egyptian family that was forced to flee. We will see whether she is reasonable or whether she caves to leftist stupidity as well. She appears smart enough that she could choose correctly here. I ain't holding my breath for a second. I am just suggesting that we could in this one instance be surprised that our worst fears do not come to pass. If you asked me to bet, I put $20 on cave. That's where my money goes, but my eyes are wide open to the faint possibility this one might go differently. Especially looking at the aftermath of her sisters augering in.

Check out Communist Party Prof. Corliss LaMont of the 60s or 70s as chairman of the Humanities Department (?) at Columbia. He and his wife were longtime funders of CP fronts and causes. Should be a page on him at www.keywiki.org or www.DiscoverTheNetworks.com or .net.

From a rich banking family as I recall. Rep., Sen. or Gov Ned LaMont of Connecticut is his nephew. Big leftist too.
