The United States said it will carry out military flights in Guyana on Thursday in a joint operation as the South American country faces soaring tensions with neighboring Venezuela over a contested oil-rich region.
"In collaboration with the Guyana Defence Force, the U.S. Southern Command will conduct flight operations within Guyana on December 7," the American embassy in Guyana said in a statement, noting the flights are part of "routine engagement" to enhance a security partnership between the two countries.

This has a lot to do with commies. Venezuela is under sanction by the US and other countries because the commie regime expropriated numerous foreign assets without compensation. You may recall that this isn’t the first time that Venezuela’s commie regime has threatened war in the name of seizing someone else’s property (just like their commie friends in Moscow).
They threatened to invade and annex Aruba and in return the US promised that we’d honor Article V if Netherlands asked for it.
Venezuela has an hostile regime and the proper response to them is hostility. That’s the only language such regimes ever understand be they Maduro, Putin, or Hamas.

I had to look that one up lol but yes it could be applied here. Especially since it’s American oil companies who are currently extracting Guyana’s oil and we aren’t about to let Maduro take those fields over. Maduro must know this but perhaps China and Russia are encouraging him to do this anyway.

When one considers that the White House is in full campaign mode at this point, and that the Neocon War in Ukraine is finally winding down with Biden’s people getting BADLY spanked, it does make sense to go beat up on a Third World country that our military can likely defeat, Venezuela, particularly when Maduro actually gave them justification, and thus be able to show at least one foreign policy achievement for the voters.
