I also belong to an outdoor range. Over on the rifle range I would marvel at the guys who fired a carefully aimed shot. Scoped the hit. Fiddled around. Maybe shoot five or ten rounds while I was emptying my day’s quota of AR-15 shots. Now I know why. When I started 5.56 was 42 cents a round. Now they’re up around a dollar last I checked.
That has always been my practice. A big day on the range might be 10 rounds in a tight group at 100 yards to be certain the scope or irons are properly zeroed.
