I recall Christmas of 1966. My family had just moved into a new house. Dad took out a loan to make it possible. The means of financing it made dinner sort of boring. Literally hot dogs and beans for dinner for a whole year. The TV news was running stories about "underprivileged" children receiving Christmas gifts. Compared to my own Christmas, they scored big. Christmas 1967 was better. We enjoyed a traditional turkey dinner again.
