The IDF is giving the Palestinians warning to vacate the tunnels. If they leave the hostages to die is that the fault of IDF or Hamas???
the threat of flooding alone has strategic value even if it is not done. Setting up pipes makes the threat more credible

The tunnels are full of boobie traps, and flooding them. Ay safely detonate the traps rather than risk lives by sending in soldiers.
As someone who performs a lot of dewatering activities, this will take enormous high Head pumps, fuel, and large amount of hose.
They shouldn’t have announced it, slammed hamas sending them retreating into the tunnels, then flooding them, and guarding the exits so none could escape without being captured.
When I was a kid ( in the 60s) we’ed flood gopher holes and shoot them when they would pop out. They would run to another hole if we missed (often), we would put a rock over the first hole, and start flooding the 2nd hole.
Farmers paid a bounty.

The ceasefire ended because HAMAS ran out of woman and children to hand over... Meaning any woman and children that they didn’t hand over, likely aren’t alive anymore.
Any male prisoners were likely killed within hours of being captured.
The tales from those released so far are of being tortured and badly mistreated, so if any remaining hostages do die during this flooding operation it will likely be a godsend.
In order to even consider not flooding the tunnels, Israel should demand irrefutable PROOF that there are hostages still alive.

There should be no Palestinian Authority. Terror from groups like Hamas and the Palestinians who support them or remain silent on their plans will never stop committing atrocities like this. End them.

PUMPS MUST be HIGH capacity & MUST be able to have salt water put thru them.
MOST regular pumps are NOT designed to handle the corrosive effects of salt water.
