An Alabama police officer has been placed on leave after a video showed her arresting a handcuffed man and hitting him with a stun gun.
The unidentified cop, from the Reform Police Department in Pickens County, was seen on camera swearing at a black man while he was handcuffed on Saturday.
District Attorney Andy Hamlin said the man, wearing a white t-shirt, gray sweats and a baseball hat, was being arrested on a trafficking fentanyl charge.
The female police officer shouts at the cuffed man to get down and lie on the front of the vehicle, with his face down.
As she begins to go through the man's pockets, she holds a stun gun to his back.
With his body lying against the front of the car, the police officer tells him to 'stay still.'
The man then responds: 'I ain't doing s**t, bro. I got a gun right there.'
The laughing officer grabs the gun that is in the handcuffed man's pocket, before saying 'oh yeah,' and deploying the stun gun into his back.
She screams: 'Shut the f**k up.' The man can be heard whimpering and crying as he repeatedly says in pain: 'Oh my God.'
The cop continues, saying: 'Do you want it again?' He cries, as she says: 'Shut your b***h a** up.'
Reform police Chief Richard Black and Mayor Melody Davis said they were aware of the video, which has circulated on social media.
They called it a 'citizen's arrest' and confirmed it took place on Saturday.

It may not have been fentanyl. Some genius with a badge once tried to put a man in prison for possession of donut glaze. No kidding.

My formative experiences with cops were in high school. Outside of our corner of Wyoming I’m not a fan.
Why do ya think it’s phony? It has been reported by multiple sources, the video shows license plates, an unmarked police vehicle, city logos/patches, they name the agency involved etc, etc...
Yes, it looks phony. Does this woman live under a rock? Does she not know what kind of optics she is creating? That should be first in her mind if she doesn’t want to spend a decade in prison.
And, she let you off with the warning; she would not take you in? Too bad.

That little lady is out of a job, and will likely get prosecuted for being extra stupid. Never give a badge to someone like that. They cost the tax payers waaay too much money and make good cops look real bad.
While the events may have some actual basis of fact; this story from the Daily Mail is sensationalized.

How did she get him in handcuffs, and once she had him in them, why did she tase him?
The Police were just doing their jobs: following standard procedure. There is no evidence of any police officer violating any citizen’s rights.
I can assure you, the video is not sensationalized.

Could be, I believe it. In the 80s I accidentally created quite a scene and received quite a bit of attention from officers for quite a while all for smoking a clove cigarette.
They couldnt figure out what I had done with my “drugs” since someone was watching me since the initial report was called in but they “just knew” that they would eventually catch me if they kept it up.
I think a few of those heros are already on the other side. I guess theyre going to have to pick up the chase when I get there.

That male cops engage in police brutality is a separate issue from whether they are better able to deescalate situations without resorting to violence.
Nope. This is real. It’s on video. The guy was changing his tire when the copette pretty much attacked him.
This kind of thing happens all the time. We just don’t hear about it because it’s usually done to white guys.
