DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Three senior members of a super PAC backing Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis left the group on Saturday, the latest sign of instability within the 2024 hopeful’s political operation just six weeks before the Iowa Republican caucuses.
Kristin Davison parted ways with Never Back Down just after she took over leading the group following the departure of CEO Chris Jankowski less than two weeks ago. Also leaving Saturday were communications director Erin Perrine and director of operations Matt Palmisano, according to two people familiar with the matter who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss Never Back Down’s internal operations. Davison’s departure was first reported by Politico.
Never Back Down’s staff was — and still is — packed with employees directly from Roe’s firm, Axiom Strategies. They included Perrine, Matt Wolking and Jessica Syzmanski, who were apparently still with the group, as were other senior staff as of Saturday.
It was unclear late Saturday if Roe remained part of Never Back Down. Roe did not return several messages seeking comment on his status or the departures of others from the group.

Was looking for information on why they latest people left, but no leaks so far. The news davison left was announced yesterday, but they kept the other 2 under wraps.
The person that took over as ceo, scott wagner, is the person that almost got in a fight with jeff roe....
So the question is, since jeff roe has had almost all of the media spending, is he going to get the boot, too?
They backed down!
DeSantis just found out what omens look like.
Maybe the PAC should hire Trump as an advisor?
Gov. @RonDeSantis: “We've been able to build a really incredible organization.”
“We've got over 30,000 people that already committed to caucus for us. We're adding more every day.” pic.twitter.com/wu4JXsYrGf— Never Back Down (@NvrBackDown24) December 3, 2023
They’re gassing up the butthurt bus headed to Miami..
just half a year ago, we were told by the desantis supporting nevertrumpers that desanctimonious was the winning candidate that had the best organized, working, campaign organization that was going to help him become president....
So why is it that, at desantis' milestone rally event of hitting 99 caucuses, this is pretty much the crowd desantis, reynolds, and vander plaat drew...
they kept a tight, zoomed in shot, because that is all the crowd there appears to be.... and it's off of the desantis campaign video
He has to drop out before Florida. Being beaten by Trump in his own state would be the ultimate humiliation.
I must say, the DeSaster crew who came up with the idea of going up against Trump, the most popular, respected, outspoken and feared president in modern American history, this had to take some real high and mighty arrogance on their part.
With Trump we have to dial back to the Founders to see this kind of relationship between a leader and the people.
On DeSanchez part, it was probably the stupidest political idea in history of earth to think they could pull that off.
They clearly were not paying attention to the people.
Maybe DeSantis was the ideal guy the Donors were looking for because he’s had a good track record in Florida AND is DeSantis was willing to play the Trump-hater role.
Sooner or later, Trump haters have to quit. Romney has been disgraced and won’t run for reelection. Now Christy didn’t qualify to enter the Maine primary.
Look for DeSantis to become the Chris Christie-style Trump hater after Christy is dropped by the Donors because Christy’s schtick no longer works like it used to.
Using leftist tactics?
Now the whole story..
The incident in question is Trump supposedly mocking New York Times reporter Serge Kovaleski, whose hand and arm movement on his right side is impaired due to arthrogryposis. Video from 2015 seems to indicate that Trump was indeed cruelly imitating the man.
But the media are too lazy and those suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome are too nasty and small-minded to look deeper. The truth is, Trump has often used those same convulsive gestures to mimic the mannerisms of people, including himself, who are rattled and exasperated.
I’m a DeSantis fan and even if he wins in Iowa, it doesn’t mean anything. Pete Buttigeg won in Iowa back in 2020. Yeah, exactly.
Why don’t you just drop your pretenses....
Just admit you’re a nevertrumper, who hates Trump, and wants Trump to lose, no matter what.
Even if biden or who ever the left runs, wins the presidency...
No I am not. I just did it because he posted the stupid gif photo of DeSantis. I was just showing that two can play that silly game.
