Former President Donald Trump drew cheers at a rally on Saturday after touting his endorsement from a "representative of Black Lives Matter" (BLM).

Earlier this week, activist Mark Fisher appeared on Fox & Friends to discuss his endorsement of Trump, with the show touting him as a "BLM leader." During his appearance, Fisher claimed that Trump has done "more for the Black community than any president I can think of in my lifetime" and decried the Democratic Party as "racist."

On Saturday, Trump spoke at a rally in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where he touted Fisher's endorsement, drawing cheers from the crowd of supporters.

"Did you see where a very respected representative of Black Lives Matter, new England?" Trump asked. "New England endorsed Trump, he said. He didn't necessarily say the Republican Party, he said Trump because what we have done in terms of opportunity zones, and jobs and jobs, historically, if you look at the black colleges and universities, 10 year funding."

The USA is in a crime explosion and the solution will have to be 1990’s Three Strikes and stop and frisk.

Cuddling up to a criminal lobby like BLM is a big mistake.

I don’t like it. but on the other hand, it is one person in a local chapter that endorsed him. I know nothing about that person other than they head up a chapter of BLM.

That is not good in and of itself, but it wasn’t the national organization. (I think they are going in for Nikki Haley...:)

Mit Romney and liz cheney will vote democrat if trump is nominated.

Trump wins by increasing his base while splintering the democrat base.

I used to think that no republican had a chance in 2024 because the democrat machine would steal the election. Now with Robert Kennedy and the harvard professor in the race—I think there may be sufficient splintering of the democrat base to keep the distance between the candidates two great for the democrats to stop the election on election night in the big blue cities.

blm and antifa are foot soldiers for the democrat party. this sort of endorsement by a blm guy—and Trumps willingness to take him in — will make it harder for the blm to keep their soldiers in line.

https://theconversation.com/black-lives-matter-decentralised-leadership-and-the-problems-of-online-organising-140897

In fact, the movement does not believe in leadersand aims to be non-hierarchical.

The Black Lives Matter network around the world is based around the idea that everyone involved should be encouraged to step up and become leaders. But while this adds an element of egalitarianism to the movement, it can create problems, too. Mass global online organising by many spokespeople taken to be “leaders” has, at times, led to confusion about what the movement stands for and what its messaging should be. It has even led to contradictory activity on occasion.

With the opportunity for anyone to lead, questions of trust and legitimacy have arisen around calls to protest and those organising under the Black Lives Matter name or hashtag.

I agree they found one guy out of 10s of thousands and want to pretend its a trend.

The Snake and the Lady or the Scorpion and the Coyote are appropriate metaphors. Its just their nature.

Well, what does that mean? As other have noted, BLM, singly, state organization, national organization, whatever, is a vile, racist, anti-family, communist, and dedicated to the overthrow of our country. We have nothing, absolutely nothing, in common with them. Trump’s accomplishments, and I put “prison reform” in that basket through gritted teeth,
Mean nothing to them. An endorsement by anyone affiliated with BLM should be met with a recitation of the truth about them, and unequivocal rejection. Trumps comments only serve to mainstream that which must not be mainstreamed

https://apnews.com/article/black-lives-matter-90-million-finances-8a80cad199f54c0c4b9e74283d27366f

The foundation said it committed $21.7 million in grant funding to official and unofficial BLM chapters, as well as 30 Black-led local organizations. It ended 2020 with a balance of more than $60 million, after spending nearly a quarter of its assets on the grant funds and other charitable giving.

follow the money. I would suspect that the chapter supporting Trump has been cut off.

It’s one thing if Trump moves or shifts his positions to get an endorsement. It’s quite another thing if the endorse switches (sees the light) and comes to Trump. Big Tent V Magnet. Trump will bring the country together, meeting at his common sense positions.
