The Ohio Republican Party formally endorsed former President Donald Trump on Friday, concluding that he is “the right choice in this moment.”

In a press release, Ohio Republican Party Chairman Alex M. Triantafilou said Trump has “proven time and again that despite the unhinged and relentless attacks from the radical left, he will never give up on fighting for Ohio’s workers, business and families.”

“His unapologetic leadership and commitment to putting America First is exactly what we need to reverse course from the failed policies of Joe Biden and Sherrod Brown,” he continued, providing examples of the leadership they crave from Trump.

Trump is holding an event and a rally on Saturday, visiting a caucus site and a gym - covered and live streamed of course.

desanctimonious is having an event, reportedly with reynolds and vanderplaats, to celebrate visiting 99 caucus sites.... and there doesn't seem to be any coverage of it, even on the desantis campaign page...

ryan and faux news seem to be propping up haley now, so who still supports desanctimonious?

Alas, I haven’t heard anything about him this year....

I guess there would have been too much competition for the < 1% of the vote....

As we get closer to the first caucuses and primaries, I think more state republican parties will make endorsements...

Except for SC who may endorse haley, I don’t see how any other state republican party could endorse any other candidate and seriously believe it.

Maybe a few other favorite sons, like DeSantis in FL and Christie in NJ, but the effect on the nomination will be minimal.

Don’t assume this is because the Ohio GOP has turned over a new leaf. The Old Guard is still in control of the party machinery, they just know that they’re less likely to be tossed out by a grassroots movement if they pretend to support Trump. Expect stealth backstabbing from now until next November.

All very likely....

The rino uniparty is deeply entrenched, and it’s going to be difficult to change that, because they like their power and
are going to fight back if someone tries to change that.

No, they haven’t turned over a new leaf, but this might be an indication that they have resolved that Trump is their only path to victory over the Democrats.

It isn’t MAGA they support, but it’s good to know they still want Republicans to win.

That's silly. I serve on the State Central Committee, and made the motion to endorse President Trump. The endorsement was voted unanimously and enthusiastically. Our Party is more conservative and more in touch with MAGA voters than ever.

No one can compete with Trump’s Dynamic Genius....DeSantis needs four more years of training.

Thank you for your comment and on the scene report.

It’s hard to get a feel of what various groups are like, until I see stories where America First/MAGA candidates try to get elected or try to get things changed, such as with what I’ve read about places like Michigan

Thanks again...

I wish I could believe that but I don't. Been burned too often, I guess.
