Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said defences must be quickly beefed up across the front line, after meeting commanders in some of the main pressure points in the south and east.
"In all major sectors where reinforcement is needed, [we must] speed up building of structures," he said in his nightly address.
Russian forces are trying to encircle the eastern town of Avdiivka.
And they are targeting the southern regions of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia.
With temperatures falling below freezing and Ukraine cloaked with snow, President Zelensky has said "winter as a whole is a new phase of war".

LOL, sure, our "treasury" is dry because we spent 100 billion on Ukraine last year, out of a total US budget of 6.5 trillion. That's the reason, not the other 6.4 trillion in spending. Okay
Destroying our enemies military without one US injury or death is a worthwhile goal. US spent 5% of its military budget(Donating mostly older weapons) to destroy half of Russia’s capability with the help of Ukraine.
Its also an important warning to China.
You didn’t address the Ukrainian manpower issue, which is also a limiting factor in continued fighting. Russia’s military is not ‘destroyed,’ and the only warning to China is that we’re out of artillery shells and HIMARS rockets.
