When I moved to Miami in 1961, the accents were Suth’in.
Nearly everyone I encounter today in Central Florida has accented English, or usually only speaking Spanish.
These developments make me wonder why I joined the Navy to continue our borders, language, and culture into the future.
Since we’ve become the United Nations, I’ve become a stranger in the country of my birth.
