Majorities of Americans support cease-fires in the ongoing wars in the Middle East and Ukraine, according to a new poll.
The new Economist/YouGov poll found that 68 percent of American respondents support a cease-fire between Russia and Ukraine, while 8 percent said they would not. In addition, 65 percent of respondents said they would support a cease-fire between Israel and the militant group Hamas, which are nearing their two-month mark of fighting. Meanwhile, 16 percent said they are opposed to a cease-fire in the Israel-Hamas war.

The media floods the airwaves 24/7 with anti-Israel propaganda and then they poll and find out their propaganda along with decades of failed public schooling supports their narrative.
I am for a cease fire also. After the enemy no longer has the means and will to resist. Also called war is over. Why do we in the west make simple things so complicated.
UKraine war should have never happened…
Gaza, I support Israel killing every last member of Hamas and those who practice fundamentalist Islam. Period
Yes it is sad that civilians get caught up in war, but this cancer has plagued humanity long enough. You don’t have a measured response to cancer.. you aim to obliterate it completely.
It depends on which specific illiberal district the polling took place.
Most Americans couldn’t find either Israel or Ukraine on a map.
I didn’t even realize it was up for a vote.
On the topic of Russia and Ukraine — I think there is a real possibility that a cease-fire might hold. They could negotiate. Maybe make a deal. Maybe not. If the negotiations fail, the ceasefire might expire and the war might start up. Such is thing is certainly possible.
On the topic of Israel and Gaza — anyone with half a brain knows that the Palestinians would just re-arm and wait for an opportune moment to attack Israel again. They’ve been doing this for decades. A ceasefire is a bad joke in that part of the world.
The Poll is a BS push poll. Economist/Americans/The Hill all to support the rats knee capping Israel
They simply want to make it seem like there is a significant amount of sympathy in the country for Palestinians. It's a completely fabricated lie.
Only the hard left haters want the war to stop. Anyone with a smidgen of intelligence and a conscience knows that Hamas must be eradicated.
Economist/YouGov poll. Not very credible IMHO.
As I’ve said, maybe 15% of us have a clue. The rest? Real housewives, funny cat tiktoks, blah blah blah......

Liars!
They should have asked the “majorities” if they are ready for the Democrats to move a massive and bloody Middle Eastern war to America. Because that’s what is about to happen.
Public opinion is one thing but the real pressure is coming from our Muslim allies. Erdogan is making various threats and even a Qatari official said that if Israel beaks the ceasefire then they will consider arming Hamas themselves. Not to mention Hezbollah and Iraqi militants who’ve said they will join in against Israel if the ceasefire is broken. Like it or not the US can’t afford to ignore these warnings. All of our Arab allies plus Turkey could switch sides to BRICS and the Russia/China axis. The US has many interests outside of Israel that need to be taken into account.
WITH YOU 1000 %
THEY ONLY POLL THEIR OWN MEMBERS OF THE CIRCLE JERK
For a cease-fire to be effective, the ENEMY must abide with it as well.
There is not such thing as a unilateral cease-fire. Were Donald J. Trump somehow magically to be restored to the Presidency, the cease-fire would be negotiated within 24 hours, because the potential transgressors could be sure Hell would rain down upon them.
Kicking ass and taking names is a very effective strategy.
No we don’t…
