The modern economic engine is bigger than just the government. After all, government leaders come and go.

The Great Depression lasted (and lasted) so long because we as humans were not in a period of rapid technological development. We were just in a giant slump.

That's not the case today.

We are in a period of rapid development. And the economy reflects that.

As an aside, Joe and team know nothing of this. Their decisions have made life difficult for many people...but the underlying economic engine is still growing (though not as fast as it would under a free-market capitalist like Trump).

One thing that should put a damper in your assessment is the growing budget deficit that is largely driven by corporate and personal income tax revenues falling far short of their projections.

The U.S. economic growth isn’t being driven by productive activity anymore. It’s being driven by massive government spending in increasingly useless and unproductive crap. Think of a $6 billion “investment” in an EV battery plant as a perfect example of this.
