From another article:
“Jacek Saryusz-Wolski, MEP of the Polish conservative PiS party, called the proposals an attempt “to hijack Europe,” and to create “a dystopian superstate that degrades member countries to the status of regions.” He warned that the reforms favour largely populated states, and are in contrast with the fundamental EU principle of equal representation. László Trócsányi of the Hungarian conservative Fidesz also alluded to the fact that four of the five co-rapporteurs of the report are German, and that the new proposals would increase the powers of institutions, but decrease the rights of small and medium sized countries.
Co-chairman of the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) Ryszard Legutko said “the report is living proof of how dangerous the EU has become.” He warned that if the proposals were to come into effect, the EU would have institutions that could impose moral and philosophical issues on its citizens, and will have instruments to punish those who have different views.”
Can’t have any checks to power!
A crack in the wall?
More reason for Brexit.
Too Bad, Suckers, you're Proles now.
Unless you Veto with well directed Gunfire.
The greasy EU corruptocrats want no bounds on their unelected power.
Just another step in transforming the member nations into mere provinces of the Greater EU Reich.
And if you think it’s bad now, just wait until the EU bureaucrats crank up the illegal Muslim immigrant quotas.
Does that mean Ukraine gets immediate membership???
Like a Bronx tale, now youse can’t leave.
Democracy at work.
So, did they also give the people of the member countries the right to reconsider their membership, now that the terms of their entry have been substantially changed - or are they just out of luck and now prisoners?
Somewhere in Hell there’s a guy with a funny mustache sobbing because he’s been outdone.
Russia is probably VERY HAPPY that the Neocons started the Ukraine War as it’s giving them the justification to upgrade their military from 900,000 to 1.5 million soldiers, which is the force they’ll need to defend themselves against what has, apparently, become the 4th Reich.
Without the help of the Neocons, it is really doubtful that the Russian government would have had the needed support for such a large expansion of their military.
He was not wrong.

The next step on the road to abolition of members’ autonomy and identity. Sooner, not later, they will all be reduced to status of ‘region’, or ‘state’ perhaps.
The Enabling Act of 2023.
This is a non-binding vote in the EU Parliament. It’s very unlikely to get through the EU Council, which is the real decision-making body, and on which each member state has a veto.Changes of this scale, if they ever happened, would probably need a new Treaty.
