I met him on the weekly Sunday 3hr evening 2014-15 radio show thread, "Gun Talk", sub-posted the thread for him while he was going thru some employment and health issues, and haven't seen him around FR in a while. We had a good time doing it, with our FRiends here.
RIP, mylife, old FRiend.

My Life “Rod” was my friend. He was a member of the “The Texas Cowboy Shoots “El Roy.” I met My Life at a shoot down in Port Aransas organized by “The Mom.” We became good friends over many years of the shoots. We often shared a motel room at the shoots. He snores like a damn chain saw but fortunately I just take out my hearing aids and all is good.
My life was a 100% conservative patriot. He was Navy on nuclear subs. He was sonar if I recall correctly. He also organized a couple of Texas Cowboy Shoots up near Dallas in Segoaville. They were a great success and enjoyed by all.
If there every was a man to have your back when he was young and strong, My Life is the man. He is not my brother by blood but he is my brother in life.
The last couple of years have been tough on My Life due to his progressive lung disease.
We love you My Life. You are in a better place today. I will see you later my friend.

Having loss my wife three years ago I am familiar with the feeling of the unfairness of the loss of a life partners. All I can say is that tells Romans8:28 tells us that:
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
I believe that the Lord calls us home when or tasks are completed. So take comfort his work done he has been called home.
I want you to know how sorry I am for your loss. I am thinking of you and your family. Please accept my condolences

He was always gracious and would invite me out to a private gun range near Dallas. We would have breakfast and go blast tennis balls into the air in the Trinity River. Loved our guns and music.
I broke down and I may do so again....:(
