There’s a word that isn’t often heard, much less bragged about, at gatherings of the top Democrats in California.
And that word is “centrist.”
But some California Democrats running in some of the most important House races in the country are dropping the “c” word.
Sure, some Democrats typically move a little toward the center in the general election if they’re facing a more moderate Republican. But four prominent House candidates are talking up their moderate qualities now, roughly three months before voters start casting ballots in the March 5 primary.
The California Democratic Party has endorsed all four, a sign that it believes they are key to flipping five seats to wrest control of the House back from Republicans. The state party may be way left of Democratic voters in California on some issues — see its 2018 endorsement of state Sen. Kevin de León over Sen. Dianne Feinstein — but they’re betting on centrists to help them win next year.
The party’s challenge is that two of these candidates ran against the same Republican opponents last year as centrists — and lost. Another is running in a district where a Democrat ran as someone who could appeal to both moderates and progressives — and lost. And the fourth is trying to succeed someone who is one of the most outspoken progressives in Congress.

Also could be called Obamaism or BernieSandersism. The unreasonable and radical left that ALWAYS pushes the envelope.
The proof will be in the pudding, if we see radical leftist candidates be defeated and a couple of radical leftist office-holders be removed.
I believe this is a direct result of actually challenging their views (as Trump and others have) instead of kowtowing to or going along with their views (as the Romney and Kasich types do).
Sure, they run to the center during the election, but govern from the extreme left.
“Centrists” in politics means someone who will accept bribes from anyone.

In California, except for the most radical of the state’s professional politicians, the far Left already believes they’re at the “center” ... and they’re just trying to reassure the voters that this delusion is real.
Republicans can pull this off easily.....since you just know these sap-happy
liberals have uttered some form of heinous anti-semitism in the past.
I kid you not. Even the words “cease fire” are now in
the anti-semitism lexicon, considered to be hatred of Jews.
No such thing as a moderate Marxist.
And the dumbass voters fall for it every time.
They run to the center to get elected. They’ll even run as a republican to get elected. Then we get republicans that are really democrats in congress.
Particularly in red-carpeted California, Oct 7th tore off a lot of leftist masks.
Jews are now facing previously unspoken leftist sentiments.
Anti-Semites don’t hide their grotesque attitudes now, they talk it up 24/7, they are
fearlessly quoted, and, no doubt, would be happy to tell any Jew to his face, if asked.
Jews are now forced to confront their non-Jewish comrades consistently agreeing with them
regarding Leftist causes.......which for non-Jews clearly includes unvarnished anti-Semitism.
The election of any Democrat anywhere is to the detriment and ruination of the American people and the American nation.
Good. I hope we exploit this.
Doesn’t matter - they can mouth whatever they think the voters wish to hear to get into office.
Then, once elected, they’ll turn right around, break all of their promises to the voters - and continue with lefty policies.
There was no difference between these two candidates, certainly neither is (or was in the case of Feinstein) a "centrist."
The beauty of it is that the sap-happy lefties havent yet
discerned which words are verboten anti-Semitism, as yet.
There’s plenty of room for Republicans to bait them into looking like hateful anti-Semites.
They lie about themselves and their opponent.
Dems always do that, if need be...

Actor Julianna Margulies Regrets Wearing a Cross on ‘The Morning Show’

Julianna Margulies currently stars on Apple TV+’s “The Morning Show” as news anchor Laura Peterson, and she told a story about coming to regret letting her character wear a cross on the show. During her costume fitting for the series, the show’s costume designer put a cross necklace around her neck.
“I did not think twice,” Margulies said. “I put the cross on. And then the character became popular. I went in the next season and there in my dressing room was the cross. Because I have started this Holocaust education program for schools since that happened, I have thought…what if Laura Peterson was wearing a Star of David? We don’t have to talk about [her religion]. But what if that character was just wearing a Star of David? Why did i not just say, ‘Hold on, why is that a cross?’”
“On TV, characters are not ever wearing the Star of David,” she continued. “I regret that. I am sorry about that. I am going to be a lot more careful in the future…It’s so easy to put on a cross. Why isn’t it just as easy to put on a Star of David?’
Margulies stressed that she has no issue playing characters of other religions, nor is automatically bothered by non-Jewish actors taking on Jewish roles. As she noted, her “Morning Show” character is a lesbian single woman while Margulies is married to a man and has children.
“Does that mean I can never play a single motherless woman?” she said when asked about Jewish characters only being played by Jewish actors. “It’s a slippery slope. I am 100% on board that I cannot play Black or Asian…but when it comes to religion, I’m on the fence about it. I am an actor. I’m supposed to make the character I play believable. That’s a slippery slope…we’re actors, we are supposed to act. We need to be careful how we tread there.”
“The Morning Show” is currently airing is third season through Nov. 8 on Apple TV+. Margulies is an executive producer on “Jack and Sam,” a documentary about two Holocaust survivors.
This conversation was a part of “Variety’s Antisemitism and Hollywood” summit.
You mean there are Republicans in California? I thought they were extinct. Such odd creatures are not permitted to Vote, are they?
