The negative impact on the climate from passenger vehicles, which is considerable, could have dropped by more than 30% over the past decade if not for the world’s appetite for large cars, a new report from the Global Fuel Economy Initiative suggests.
Sport utility vehicles, or SUVs, now account for more than half of all new car sales across the globe, the group said, and it’s not alone. The International Energy Agency, using a narrower definition of SUV, estimates they make up nearly half.
Over the years these cars have gotten bigger and so has their cost to the climate, as carbon dioxide emissions “are almost directly proportional to fuel use” for gas-powered cars. The carbon that goes in at the pump comes out the tailpipe.

People want cars that do what they need them to do.
Go figure.
🤔 ev are not really cleaner. No such thing (like transgender) as “net zero”.

“..EVs are not really cleaner. No such thing (like transgender) as “net zero”....”
^THIS^
The same imbeciles that believe in Unicorns that shit skittles....
Stupid ALEXA ST. JOHN & the AssPress & the Left. They’ll never get it no matter how much EV’s explode and how there is basically no demand for EV’s.
The unconstitutional laws, acts, and agencies of the federal government, like this stupid push for EV’s, is not about your welfare but about the government wanting MORE of your money, power, and freedom.
Well, for what it’s worth, Ford stopped making sedans in 2019 and the only sedans that GM currently offers in North America are the Chevy Malibu, Cadillac CT4, and Cadillac CT5, while the only coupes and convertibles left are the Chevy Camaro and Chevy Corvette.
“...and ignore geothermal.”
I’ve never understood why geothermal has been ignored.
Oh, isn't that cute? Almost as cute as Ralphie in his pink rabbit suit.
How about this? "the carbon that goes in at the power plant goes out the smokestack; then that unwieldy battery becomes hazardous waste for millennia".
Or how about this? "the garbage that goes into the mind at the university comes out the behind as meaningless verbiage".
Absolute nonsense. These stupid people should go to their safe rooms and live. We don’t need them
“...negative impact on the climate from passenger vehicles, which is considerable...”
Yep, 4/100ths of a percent of CO2 in the atmosphere in spite of what the rest of the world contributes and the $40,000,000,000,000 we’ll owe on the national debt by the end of the decade makes it hard to say which one will kill this country first in a few more years. Maybe the combo of the two. /s
Geothermal is very location dependent. Expensive to build as well. However, should definitely be looked into in areas where easy access is available.
“are almost directly proportional to fuel use” for gas-powered cars.
How does photosynthesis enter the equation and multitude of other variables.
Do they not teach the carbon cycle anymore?
But if you admit that it is a huge complex system that we don’t understand, it leads to answers like GOD. and we can’t have that.
Per Deep State, off the EPA’s website...
“New passenger vehicles are 98-99% cleaner for most tailpipe pollutants compared to the 1960s.
Fuels are much cleaner—lead has been eliminated, and sulfur levels are more than 90% lower than they were prior to regulation.”
Dr. Sivana wrote: “Nuclear, Hydroelectric and Geothermal come close. Oddly, the greenies HATE nuclear, don’t like hydroelectric (which is just a big windmill stuck in the water), and ignore geothermal.”
It is less ‘odd’ if one understands the objective of the greenies is to use less energy.
Ford and GM are increasingly irrelevant.
The greenies have been complaining for years that the increases in fuel efficiency haven’t gone to less gasoline consumption but instead to bigger cars.

The greenies in the government will determine what the people need.
