Climate vulnerable nations could get insured for $10 million a year each -research

BRUSSELS/LONDON (Reuters) - Wealthy nations could provide 100 of the world's most vulnerable countries a combined $25 billion in annual protection against climate disasters for as little as $10 million per nation, research published on Tuesday showed.

With rich nations under pressure to fill the pot, researchers from the University of Cambridge's Institute for Sustainability Leadership said they had reached a "breakthrough" in understanding how to use this money to protect countries from the spiralling cost of storms, drought and rising sea levels.

Donor funds of $10 million per recipient country, when used as premium support, could yield $200 million to $300 million per country in pre-arranged annual protection, for a combined $25 billion if rolled out across 100 countries, the researchers said.

The scheme would use this relatively modest donor funding to provide an insurance against far more costly, but unpredictable, climate risks like hurricanes and floods, which may only occur once per decade or every few decades.

“The idea is to use that new source of funding to protect these countries at a structural level," said Rowan Douglas, CEO of Climate Risk and Resilience at UK-based insurance broker Howden, which co-authored the research.

Wealthy nations are already ham-stringing themselves with energy policies to “help” the “environment” and letting developing countries keep drilling for oil and burning coal. That’s dumb enough as it is, now we’re expected to pay them for it?

As if we didn’t already know the real agenda - simple wealth redistribution... its as if they aren’t even trying to hide it now...

Global Warming was only about drastically reducing population, until it became only about money.

Either way it’s the greatest fraud ever perpetrated.

So people that weren’t dumb enough to live on an island in a tsunami zone got to pay for the stupidity of people that did.

If the climate is in crisis, why do YOU need OUR money to fix it?

What will that money pay for?

Who will get the money?

Why THEM and not someone else?

What will THEY be sacrificing in support of your climate goals?

Asking for a friend...

With virtually everything from the presumed death of honeybees to changes in the mating cycles of marmots being blamed on Global Climate Change, this fund would be bankrupt in no time. Plus, what about just ordinary hurricanes and floods? We all know there were no hurricanes and floods before the SUV.

Sheesh...only $10 million premium for an ENTIRE NATION tells me there is about ZERO RISK of anything adverse happening to them caused by climate change.

If there was a serious risk, they would be uninsurable.

This tells me all I need to know about the climate scam.
