Every few years Rush would retell the story of the way he fought and won against Media Matters and the Left. When the Left would accuse Rush of something, hundreds of thousands of ‘people’ would appear to be joining in the boycott of Rush advertisers. Rush knew something was not right. He put together a tech team and discovered that about ten people were generating social media algorithms to appear like thousands. Once he demonstrated and educated his advertisers, they kept advertising. I love Rush’s statements about “confiscatory advertising rates.” The companies were willing to pay because at any moment millions were listening.
