The Military Summary Channel opined yesterday or the day before that the defection of the Ukrainian pilot with the SU-27 will force the West to re-screen the handful of pilots that they scrounged up for the F-16s for indications that one or more may take critical technology with an F-16 to Russia.

They would have to launch from a submarine. I was pointing out that in the normal realm of things we’d want to just listen in to the telemetry rather than shoot something down. I did point out that nobody has any assets in the south polar region as there’s nothing there currently of interest.
The poster wanted the US to shoot down the missile. We don’t shoot at each other’s stuff, much preferring to listen in. Shooting so might be interpreted as an act of war. It also has the potential for escalation.

We still don’t have definitive proof that Putin is alive. This could be the doing of spokesman Patrushev, who is even harder liner than Putin. Also the question of why has Putin’s gymnast girlfriend and probably mother of several of his children not been seen for 3 weeks? Putin could be very ill and Patrushev or others keeping him and family sequestered awaiting health outcome. It is said Patrushev has in mind putting his own son into power if he can.

"While President Biden was in Ukraine on Monday, Russia tested an intercontinental ballistic missile that appears to have failed, according to a report.
US officials told CNN on Tuesday that Russia used a deconfliction line to notify the US in advance of the missile test, which reportedly did not pose a risk to the country.
According to the officials, the US did not view the test as an anomaly or an escalation.
The test was of a nuclear-capable heavy SARMAT missile, dubbed Satan II by NATO, and classified as a “superweapon” by the head of Russia’s aerospace research agency.
US officials believe the test failed since Russian President Vladimir Putin did not mention it in his State of the Nation address Tuesday."
Which Tuesday was Putin’s State of the Nation address delivered on? Also was it before actual humans, or only televised. Possible to give by a double?

Putin’s double is having a tough time. A couple days ago, he was scolded by Kadyrov for not visiting Chechnya.
The Double has been standing in for many months now. Only a few of the heads of state know the truth. The Chinese thought the Double did a good job. Putin approved his words and actions afterward.
Today news reports said it failed.
