Jimmy must be setting a record for life while in Hospice, while she passed soon after. Perhaps he was waiting for her.

I would be surprised. She is not a symbol of the Revolution, and the Obama/Biden wing that runs the party at the moment is too busy hating Jews and Israel to worry about some old-fashioned housewife Bible study running First Lady.
She’s pro-abort, doesn’t deserve a State Funeral. Certainly no more than a USMC Lance Corporal would get.
I’ll dispute you for leaving out the Nixons. The Carters played the politics in such a way that there was very little political flak. Pat Nixon “stood by her man” from the time he provoked the political left by going after Alger Hiss, and she did it with quiet dignity.

A few hours ago I saw some flags flying at half-staff and wondered if Jimmy Carter had died. Would flags be lowered in honor of a former First Lady? I don’t know if her death had been announced at that time.
He was already in hospice.

Fair enough, Pat was indeed a good helpmeet, and their children were loyal to the end as well, which cannot even be said of our standard bearer unfortunately.

Yep. My folks were in the hospital for cirrhosis of the liver. My dad died. When we told mom she shut down completely and died a week later. They were not even old. Mid 50s.
Aww. A long and a good marriage. Jimmy won’t be far behind without her I think.

End of an era. She and Ladybird were good ladies. I got my real business start under Carter, his high inflation taught me
how to make money in real estate.
They were like swans like some couples are. One cannot live without the other.
