If feral government bureaucrats can create laws by diktat, why do we need Congress?

Speech suppression. Typical of those seeking absolute power.

So, what's the shelf-life of Free Republic?

Do we make it past 4 of July 2024?

Thank you for referencing that article Aquamarine. Please note that the following critique is directed at the referenced article and not at you.

"THE FCC JUST VOTED TO TAKE CONTROL OF THE INTERNET"

FR: Never Accept the Premise of Your Opponent’s Argument

FCC has been added to the list of post-FDR era, politically correct but unconstitutional federal government regulators (read: stolen state powers) imo.

"Article I, Section 1: All legislative Powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives [and non-popularly-elected bureaucrats running Federal Reserve, IRS, EPA, BLM, FDA, NIH, CDC, FWS, DHS, DOL, USDA, FCC, etc.]"

The FCC is just another example of post-17th Amendment ratification career federal lawmakers protecting their voting records by letting a constitutionally undefined federal regulatory agency run by non-popularly elected bureaucrats get away with stealing state powers to dictate unconstitutional federal government policies.

More specifically, given that Internet businesses are based on contracts, not commerce (correction welcome), the post-Civil War Supreme Court had clarified in Paul v. Virginia that contracts are not commerce, the federal government therefore having no Commerce Clause power (1.8.3) to regulate contracts.

“The FCC voted today on a plan that gives the Federal government full control over the Internet.”

I’m sure this amused the people at the NSA who’ve had control of our phones and internet for decades now.

The FCC will review consumer complaints of digital discrimination of access through an improved consumer complaint portal

Excellent lets flood said portal with 10s of thousands of examples of conservatives being discriminated against.

Since trans are 0.01% of the population, if they aren't generating 50% of YouTube videos then they are being discriminated against.

The only thing to do is to shutdown all of the "rightwing" YouTube channels so the content creation is equal.

Shouldn’t the American people vote on this… not decided on by the FCC?

SCOTUS has ruled this unconstitutional. In 3 separate cases.

There will be absolutely no blow-back on this latest addition to the shackles of tyranny we already bear...

The GOP and the serfs will shrug there shoulders and pretend nothing has changed...

The pure advantages and completeness of communist tyranny are once again brought into focus...

Wasn’t that nice of them to vote to give themselves so much power over the Internet?

China does this same thing.

Ministry of Disinformation and all that.

Great!, so when I move to my dream off the grid hideaway in the remotest part of Montana or Wyoming, the FCC will force one of the ISPs to run fiber all the way out to me? That’s awesome. And I’d better have the same multi-gig speeds and low latency as those city dwellers who have the best service, otherwise it’s discrimination. And my bill had better be no more than they’re charging those city dwellers as well, or….you know…discrimination.

On second thought, I just checked my melanin level and realized that it’s probably too low to qualify for this “non-discriminatory” plan.
