I understand exactly what you’re saying.

I am currently witnessing the daughters of friends who got on the feminist train years ago.

Only one of them married and had children....the one who had met her husband as a young girl and they remained together, which is very nice. If she ever wanted to become a full-time homemaker, wife and mother, she could not do it. They need her income.

Another one has a “partner” and they have one child. He doesn’t want marriage, and is adamant that she provide her “share” of the income. So much so that before she became pregnant, she had to have enough money saved to pay her share of the rent before she took any time off. He is making six figures, but it’s irrelevant to him. It’s all “equal” now. He took full advantage of the narrative.

The remaining daughters are all late thirties, no boyfriends (they say there’s nobody good out there), all educated beyond belief (two of the PHDs) and they now see that there’s a pretty good chance they are not going to have someone with whom to share life, let alone a family. They have Carboardeaux and cats.

One of the girls with the PHD cannot even support herself! She works part-time here and there, takes more courses, shops, shops, shops, and counts on her parents (my good friends) to send her money every month. She’s nearly 40, and is as woke and flakey as the day is long.

Now, I’m sure there are many out there who are happy with their choices, but that’s just not been my experience in my small circles. Nobody, on their death bed, regretted not spending more time at work. Many very nice women out there regret buying into the lie.

Greetings to all in good standing... it's freepersup here at your service. Long time no see, eh? I have left the mountains for the season and just returned to our base camp in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains. In the interim, I attended and completed an intensive nine-day Wilderness First Responder class at the Flagstaff Field Institute in Flagstaff, AZ. Basically a crash course in first aid at an EMT level. My brain is full of life-saving skills and I couldn't be happier.

OK, duty calls. I've got some chores to do and then I'll be heading to the train station in just a bit to catch a ride with all of you to Iowa.
