Iran’s supreme leader told the head of Hamas in a face-to-face meeting in Tehran that his country would not enter the war with Israel and accused the terror group of not giving any prior warning of the Oct 7 attacks.
Ayatollah Ali Khamenei told Ismail Haniyeh that Iran – a longtime backer of Hamas – would continue to lend the group its political and moral support, but would not intervene directly, according to three Iranian and Hamas officials with knowledge of the discussions who asked to remain anonymous.
The supreme leader pressed Haniyeh to silence those voices in the Palestinian group publicly calling for Iran and its powerful Lebanese ally Hezbollah to join the battle against Israel in full force, a Hamas official told Reuters.
Hezbollah, too, was taken by surprise by Hamas’s devastating assault last month that killed 1,200 Israelis. Its fighters were not even on alert in villages near the border that were frontlines in its 2006 war with Israel, and had to be rapidly called up, three sources close to the Lebanese group said.
“We woke up to a war,” said a Hezbollah commander.
The unfolding crisis marks the first time that the so-called ‘axis of resistance’ – a military alliance built by Iran over four decades to oppose Israeli and American power in the Middle East – has mobilised on multiple fronts at the same time.
Hezbollah has engaged in the heaviest clashes with Israel for almost 20 years. Iran-backed militias have targeted US forces in Iraq and Syria. Yemen’s Houthis have launched missiles and drones at Israel.

A memo must have been sent around to the media to run this garbage explanation today. The whole goal is to make the Iranian mullah regime look thoughtful and wise. Of course it is probably Obamatollah and Jarret behind this
This means no WW III! This is good news. Problems in Middle east will not expand! With Ukraine on the skids, about ready for Peace Talks, Hamas crushed (for the time being at least) it looks like peace is coming. We should be having a big party. Now we just need to solve our problems at home. Nothing a good reform movement, massive impeachments, or a Law and Order Crusade couldn’t fix.
THEY ARE ALREADY AT WAR WITH ISRAEL!
I really hope Bibi understands the true purpose of Iran’s “positioning” here.
Exactly !
This is good news. But the people who want everything to be Putin the Satanic Demon don’t want to hear anything that is good news for Israel.
They never were. Iranians are Farci speaking Shai, not Arab speaking Sunni. Qatar fronts for Hamas, always have. Irans a neocon decoy, just like Russia. Iranians are dirtbags of a different flavor, going back to the hostage crisis in the 70s, but they’ve got no dog in this fight.
Translation is we don’t have a nuclear bomb yet and we don’t want our bomb making facilities destroyed to build them. They will lie and fight a proxy war with Israel. Once they have the bomb it will be used.
Bingo.
Hamas chose their timing poorly.
Iran will use nukes within 24 hours of having one.
One thing for certain here;it is getting very hard to say for sure about who’s lying & who’s telling the truth. Actions speak much louder than words though, so I guess we just have to keep a close eye on who is doing what & trust little of what is said by the suspect nations.

No……they will enter with Hezbollah and Syria

Yeah, that's why the hizzies on the border were a little slow to join in a little.
If they really were out of the loop, they must really not be part of the US State Department, the United Nations bureaucracy, or the community of so-called journalists.
