Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid has called on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to resign, saying the Israeli leader has “lost the public’s trust.”
This is the first time Lapid has urged Netanyahu to quit since Hamas’ attack on Israel on October 7.
“Netanyahu cannot remain Israel's prime minister. We need a national recovery government … he needs to go now. We cannot allow ourselves to have a Prime Minister who has lost the public’s trust, whether from a social or a security point of view,” Lapid said in an interview with Israel’s Channel 12.
“The people who are running things right are the defense establishments. This government is dysfunctional," he said. "We need to change the government.”
However, the former prime minister added that he doesn’t think now is the right time to hold elections.

Don’t do it, Bibi!
Nothing like loyalty when the country is at risk if the Arabs unite with China and Russia’s support and the Biden Admin. sees shrinking support for Israel versus mobs in the streets
calling for world peace.
For years the anti-Netanyahu types have been compared to the anti-Trump ones. Biden insulted him from the first day compared to Trump embracing him and moving the embassy to Tel Aviv.
Leftist opportunistic power grab.
“Netanyahu cannot remain Israel’s prime minister. We need a national recovery government … he needs to go now.”
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Bibi’s flying over the target now.
Bombs away, Bibi!
Wonder if Lapid has a clue that hardasses like Bibi are what’s standing between him and having no head ?
First head of state to congratulate Biden?
This is Obama/Biden’s work. He’s trying to get Bibi out of the way in order to get a pliant PM. It’s a shame the opposition leader would do their dirty work at this point. Despicable.
I doubt he'll quit as long as Likud Party continues to back him.
They know who butters their bread.
The guy was comatose asleep at the wheel 10/7. It was his dereliction of duty that got 1400 Israelis killed and you support him?
In the middle of a war?! I don’t think so!
I know, just stating for the record.
Also, Biden isn’t behind this. The man can barely function as a human.
I’m not stating that “at you”, just another clarification.
An aside:
I have a very difficult time believing that Mossad just totally missed this.
7,000+ rockets and well north of a thousand men training/planning for months if not years. Zero HumInt…
Likud would have to agree on a replacement acceptable to coalition partners. Rival egos are too strong without party primaries. Bibi won’t survive, but that will wait until there’s more normalcy. Depending on how blame gets assigned, Bibi could make yet another comeback afterwords.
Gidon Sa’ar is a very possible Bibi successor, but he’s more of a military hawk than Bibi, so Washington won’t be happy anyway.
As soon as this is over he will be gone.
I read between the lines on this Yair Lapid trying to get attention for himself calling on Netanyahu to resign but saying some other Likud member should replace him.
Lapid not calling for any new elections because his *ss would be handed to him if there was one according to the polls.
I’ve been reading the polls Likud is faring badly but this Globalist Moderate “National Unity” led by the former Defense Minister Benny Gantz now in war cabinet would get 1/3 of the vote and 40 of the 120 seats in Parliament.
Right on cue after the Biden regime starts hinting that Israel needs more cooperative leadership which supports the two state solution and an Iran deal to finish the nukes.
Maybe. But only if Israel ends up in another war. And they think they'll need Bibi again.
Be Be needs to call on dumbass Lapid to resign. Hell! Let’s all resign before we get impeached or shot by the far-lefties.
I don’t know much about Israeli politics, but I’ve just always liked Bibi. And when someone is pressing someone else to bug out, I usually take that as a sign that one should stick around. Generally speaking.
